"The next leap in my career that was five years in the making”

Wanida Siributtanom started her career at a multinational consumer goods giant straight out of university. Thoughts of switching companies never crossed her mind as she rose up the ranks and gained valuable experience through opportunities like secondments to Singapore. Even a decade in when Vorubsorn Pongsiribanyat, Director at Robert Walters Thailand, reached out to her, she had no plans on leaving.

Over the next five years, Vorubsorn kept in touch with Wanida, occasionally sharing job openings. Then one day, Wanida expressed interest in trying out for a new position.

Leaving a job you’ve held for sixteen years can feel daunting, especially when it’s the only job you’ve ever known and your manager is still supportive and understanding. But Wanida decided that the time was ripe for a change.

She explains, “I wanted to advance my career by learning new financial skills and taking on more challenging work."

After a deep dive with Vorubsorn to understand her aspirations, opportunities soon came streaming in for Wanida. Every single one of them was a close fit to what she was looking for. Armed with all this and consistent feedback throughout her interviews, Wanida soon secured an offer as the Finance Director at a global pharmaceutical corporation. However, her collaboration with Robert Walters Thailand didn't end there. In her new role as Finance Director, she was tasked with building her team. Wanida once again worked closely with the Robert Walters Thailand team, this time as a hiring manager, to identify and recruit professionals who were a good fit for her team.

“Within days of my request, Robert Walters sent a shortlist of profiles and CVs, complete with a summary of each candidate. That saved me a lot of time in reviewing potential candidates. All in, it took only a month for me to find the profiles I was seeking for my team,” Wanida relates. “Both as a candidate and hiring manager, I had an excellent experience with the Robert Walters team.”

Taking that courageous step to change jobs has also paid off. Settled in her new role, Wanida reports that she is happier than ever. The job has been exactly the platform she needs to move towards new career milestones.

“Even when I had other priorities and wasn’t actively looking for a new job, Robert Walters stayed in touch with me for over five years,” she says. “Their consistent presence and genuine concern truly left a lasting impression on me.”
