Meet Giuseppe

As businesses increasingly embrace technology to meet the demands of modern lifestyles, the hospitality industry is keeping pace. Global hospitality leader Accor, for example, ensures it remains at the forefront of innovation through its dedicated tech arm, which delivers expert solutions to support its extensive network of over 5,500 hotels worldwide.

But building a strong tech division is no easy feat, especially now when everyone’s focused on digital innovation and growth. Recognising this challenge, Giuseppe Gabriele, Accor’s transformation director, partnered with Robert Walters Thailand to tackle the ambitious mission of expanding the company’s Tech Center in Bangkok.

“Our goal was to establish an in-house team that provides secure, stable, and responsive tech expertise to support our hotels, guests, and corporate functions worldwide,” Giuseppe says, as the company has set a target to hire over 90 new employees within a year. Previously reliant on external consultants, the company sought to build a dedicated internal team—one that could take ownership of expertise and drive efficiency.

This approach proved critical in overcoming challenges during the hiring process, particularly in securing candidates proficient in English—a non-negotiable skill. “We also faced difficulties finding candidates with the specific technical expertise we needed, especially in cybersecurity,” Giuseppe notes.

Together, Accor and Robert Walters confronted these obstacles head-on. “Robert Walters played a significant role in assisting us in overcoming these setbacks, thanks to their ability to go beyond the frontiers,” Giuseppe says. Their global search capabilities enabled the identification of top-tier candidates from different locations, ensuring the right fit for each role. This wide reach also helped Accor Tech cultivate a more diverse talent pool—a significant milestone for the company.
