An IT Services company is seeking an IT Retail Project Manager to oversee a range of regional and local projects, including retail boutique openings, store renovations, and strategic IT initiatives. This role offers you the opportunity to take ownership of full project lifecycles, from initial planning through to successful delivery, while collaborating with diverse teams across multiple markets.

What you'll do:

As an IT Retail Project Manager based in Bangkok, you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating the successful delivery of boutique openings, store renovations, and key technology initiatives. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve defining project parameters independently—setting clear objectives for scope, timeline, budget allocation, and resource planning. You will act as the central point of contact for regional coordination across various markets; this means facilitating communication between vendors such as system integrators or network providers and internal teams spanning retail operations to headquarters IT. By driving robust project governance practices—including RAID management—you will ensure that deliverables are met on schedule while risks are mitigated effectively. Your ability to produce executive-level reports will keep senior stakeholders informed of progress and any escalations. Additionally, you may be called upon to mentor junior colleagues within the project management function. Success in this role hinges on your capacity for collaborative engagement with diverse teams and your commitment to minimising operational disruptions during critical store events.

  • Oversee the complete lifecycle of boutique openings, store renovations, and assigned IT initiatives by managing all phases from planning through execution.
  • Independently define project scope, establish timelines, allocate budgets, and coordinate resources to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Facilitate regional coordination across multiple markets by connecting vendors, internal teams, and business units for cohesive project delivery.
  • Drive project governance by tracking deliverables, milestones, risks, actions, issues, and decisions (RAID) throughout each initiative.
  • Engage business stakeholders from retail operations to headquarters IT to maintain alignment and clear communication at every stage.
  • Lead vendor management activities including system integrators, cabling vendors, network providers to foster dependable partnerships.
  • Ensure minimal business disruption during store openings or changes by proactively addressing potential challenges.
  • Produce executive-level reporting such as presentations, status updates, and risk escalation documents for senior leaders.
  • Mentor junior project managers or coordinators when required to nurture talent within the team.

What you bring:

To excel as an IT Retail Project Manager in this organisation’s Bangkok office you will bring a wealth of proven experience managing complex projects within retail technology environments. Your background should include direct involvement with luxury retail store openings or renovations—demonstrating your ability to navigate the unique demands of these high-profile events. You possess strong stakeholder management skills that enable you to build trustful relationships with senior leaders across business units while fostering co-operative engagement among team members. Your technical acumen spans POS systems and network infrastructure; this allows you to communicate effectively with both IT specialists and non-technical stakeholders alike. Formal qualifications such as a degree in Information Technology or Engineering underpin your credibility; certifications like PMP or PRINCE2 further highlight your commitment to best practice methodologies. Fluency in English ensures you can connect seamlessly with regional colleagues while proficiency in Thai supports local vendor interactions. Your approach is marked by empathy and sensitivity—qualities that help you manage ambiguity constructively without losing sight of shared goals.

  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management with proven engagement across senior business leaders in retail environments.
  • Comprehensive understanding of retail IT systems including POS platforms, network infrastructure setups, and store technology solutions.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity by constructively challenging project scope while maintaining clarity for all involved parties.
  • 3–5+ years’ hands-on experience in project management covering planning, design, execution phases within technology-driven settings.
  • Track record of successfully delivering at least three luxury retail store openings or renovations or event rollouts.
  • Exposure to multi-country or regional project delivery is highly desirable for effective cross-market coordination.
