Head of IT Operations

What you'll do:
• Lead the IT Operations function covering Infrastructure, Network, Core Systems, ERP, Manufacturing Systems, Application Support, Service Desk and End-User Support by providing guidance and direction to ensure seamless operations.
• Develop and execute the IT Operations strategy, roadmap, budget and operating model that aligns closely with business goals and Enterprise Technology objectives.
• Ensure availability, reliability, performance and scalability of all business-critical IT systems and infrastructure by implementing best practices and monitoring frameworks.
• Establish and manage comprehensive ITSM frameworks including SLA/KPI management for Incident, Problem, Change and Service Request Management to maintain high standards of service delivery.
• Oversee infrastructure operations such as network management, cloud services, data centre maintenance, backup procedures, disaster recovery planning and business continuity measures.
• Partner with Cybersecurity teams to strengthen patch management processes, vulnerability remediation efforts, operational security protocols and overall IT resilience.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of IT assets including software licensing compliance, CMDB accuracy, vendor performance evaluation and technology contract negotiations.
• Drive root-cause analysis initiatives alongside continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing critical incidents and enhancing service availability across all platforms.
• Lead automation efforts within IT Operations by introducing self-service tools and operational efficiency initiatives that minimise manual processes while improving user experience.
• Ensure operational readiness for new technology deployments including ERP/system implementations as well as broader business transformation initiatives by coordinating cross-functional teams.
• Structure the IT Operations team through capability development programmes, performance management strategies and succession planning activities to build a resilient workforce.
• Provide regular updates on IT Operations performance metrics along with risk assessments and improvement recommendations directly to senior management.

What you bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field is required for foundational technical knowledge.
• At least 12 years of proven experience in IT roles including 5 years in an IT Operations leadership capacity demonstrates your depth of expertise.
• Experience in positions such as Head of IT Operations or Director-level roles involving infrastructure oversight is essential for understanding complex environments.
• Strong background managing enterprise infrastructure including networks, cloud platforms, ERP/core systems as well as service operations is vital for success.
• Familiarity supporting manufacturing environments (MES/ERP/SAP/manufacturing systems) is preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge of ITSM methodologies (ITIL), SLA/KPI frameworks plus Incident/Problem/Change Management processes ensures effective governance.
• Good understanding of cybersecurity operations including vulnerability management protocols plus backup/disaster recovery/business continuity strategies is important for maintaining resilience.
• Proven track record managing budgets alongside vendor relationships/contracts/technology asset lifecycles highlights your organisational skills.
• Experience leading multi-functional teams while engaging senior business stakeholders showcases your interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated history of driving transformation projects—automation/service improvement/operational optimisation—reflects your commitment to continuous enhancement.
• Strong stakeholder management coupled with problem-solving capabilities enables you to navigate complex situations effectively.
