What you'll do:
As Head of People based in Bangkok, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of an AI-driven organisation. Your daily responsibilities will involve collaborating with executive leaders to translate strategic goals into actionable workforce plans that drive business success. You will oversee the scaling of both technical and non-technical teams through data-driven planning while ensuring compensation frameworks remain competitive in the ever-changing AI talent market.
- Partner closely with management and leadership team to translate AI product roadmaps and computing resource allocations into precise headcount budgets that support rapid business growth.
- Lead data-driven workforce planning initiatives to scale both technical (ML/AI research, engineering) and non-technical teams concurrently across multiple functions.
- Analyse market trends to design creative compensation and equity frameworks tailored specifically for hyper-competitive AI talent pools.
- Act as a sounding board for management by using data insights to predict organisational bottlenecks before they impact development timelines.
- Manage day-to-day HR operations including seamless onboarding processes, payroll oversight, local compliance requirements, and HRIS optimisation.
- Drive recruitment strategy by personally sourcing, interviewing, and closing critical technical hires needed for ongoing innovation.
- Build compliant remote/hybrid work frameworks that accommodate highly specialised global or distributed talent while maintaining agility.
- Directly manage employee relations to ensure high retention rates and psychological safety within a high-pressure, high-output environment.
- Design agile performance management systems and continuous feedback loops that match the velocity of short sprint cycles rather than rigid annual reviews.
- Foster a unique culture of rapid experimentation, cross-functional collaboration between research, product, and go-to-market teams, as well as continuous learning opportunities.
What you bring:
- Over 15 years of progressive HR experience with proven success as a 'player-coach' in fast-paced technology organisations such as AI, Deep Tech, Web3 or high-growth SaaS environments.
- Strategic acumen combined with practical execution skills enabling you to advise C level executives on organisational design while handling offer letters and compliance paperwork yourself.
- Deep understanding of AI/Tech roles including ML Infrastructure Engineers, AI Researchers, Data Engineers; knowledge of what motivates these professionals even if you do not write code yourself.
- Resilience and adaptability demonstrated by thriving in ambiguous environments where priorities shift quickly due to technological breakthroughs or market demands.
- Strong quantitative skills paired with budgeting experience running complex headcount models aligned with venture funding or revenue milestones.
- Expertise in labour compliance regulations alongside proficiency with modern operational HR tools such as HRIS systems.
- Passion for building inclusive cultures focused on learning ecosystems and high-performance teams that foster collaboration across departments.
- Ability to design agile performance management systems that support rapid feedback cycles instead of traditional annual reviews.
- Experience developing clear career tracks for individual technical contributors so top talent can grow without becoming people managers.
- Commitment to nurturing psychological safety within high-pressure environments through empathetic employee relations management.
