Head of Business Intelligence ( Commercial)

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Business Intelligence professional to lead and drive the strategic use of data and analytics across the business.

This role will work closely with senior management and key business functions to transform complex data into actionable insights, support strategic decision-making, and identify opportunities for business growth and operational improvement.

The ideal candidate will combine strong business acumen with deep expertise in Business Intelligence, data analytics, reporting, and data-driven transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Business Intelligence and data analytics strategy in alignment with overall business objective
• Partner with senior management and business leaders to identify key business challenges and translate them into data-driven solutions
• Lead the development of dashboards, management reports, performance metrics, and analytical models to support strategic and operational decision-making
• Analyse large and complex datasets to identify business trends, customer insights, market opportunities, and potential risks
• Establish and enhance KPI frameworks to measure business performance across key functions
• Lead BI projects from requirements gathering and data analysis through to solution development, implementation, and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with Technology, Data, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and other functions to ensure effective use of data across the organisation.
• Drive data visualisation and self-service analytics capabilities to improve accessibility and adoption of business intelligence.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, governance, and integrity across BI platforms and reporting.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, analytics tools, AI, and automation opportunities that can enhance business intelligence capabilities.
• Lead and mentor BI, analytics, and data professionals while fostering a data-driven culture across the organisation.
• Present strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Key Requirements

• Master/bachelor’s degree in business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or related areas.
• Proven experience leading BI or analytics functions within a large multinational or complex organisation.
• Strong understanding of business strategy and the ability to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions.
• Strong experience with BI and data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of data warehouse concepts, SQL, data modelling, and analytics platforms.
• Experience working with cloud data platforms and modern data architecture is highly desirable.
• Exposure to AI, machine learning, automation, or advanced analytics would be an advantage.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with C-level and senior business leaders.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and/or BI and analytics professionals.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Fluent in English with strong communication and presentation skills
