General Manager – Food Laboratory Services Salary: Competitive, based on experience Location: Bangkok

A well-established international laboratory services company is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead its food laboratory services business in Thailand. This senior leadership position will oversee the overall commercial and operational performance of the business, including strategy, profitability, customer growth, service delivery and people development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business strategies to drive sustainable growth
• Take ownership of the business unit’s P&L, annual budget and financial performance
• Drive sales growth by expanding key accounts and identifying new business opportunities
• Build strong relationships with customers, industry partners and relevant authorities
• Lead Sales, Customer Service and Laboratory Operations teams
• Improve operational efficiency, service quality and customer satisfaction
• Coach and develop managers and employees while building a high-performance and accountable culture
• Resolve major customer issues and strengthen long-term customer retention
• Develop new testing services in response to customer needs, industry trends and regulatory changes
• Monitor business performance and provide regular reports to senior management
• Collaborate with regional stakeholders and other business units
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety, ethics and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field
• At least 10 years’ experience in food testing, laboratory services, food manufacturing or a related industry
• At least five years’ experience in a leadership or management role with responsibility for business performance
• Proven experience in P&L management, strategic planning, business development and commercial management
• Experience leading cross-functional commercial and operational teams
• Good understanding of food safety, laboratory operations and quality or compliance requirements
• Strong business acumen, stakeholder management, negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Experience working within a multinational organisation would be advantageous
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems
