Head of Business Development – Large Scale B2G

Location: Thailand

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive business development strategy for large-scale government and state-enterprise renewable energy projects.
  • Identify, evaluate, and secure new B2G opportunities across solar, wind, biomass, waste-to-energy, EV infrastructure, and other renewable energy solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, regulators, utilities, EPC partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Lead end-to-end project development activities including opportunity sourcing, tender participation, proposal preparation, commercial negotiation, and contract closing.
  • Monitor government policies, renewable energy regulations, and upcoming public infrastructure investment plans to identify business opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including Engineering, Project Development, Legal, Finance, and Operations to ensure project feasibility and successful execution.
  • Develop strategic partnerships, consortiums, and joint ventures to strengthen project competitiveness.
  • Lead commercial and financial evaluation for projects including investment analysis, project returns, and risk assessment.
  • Represent the company in industry forums, government meetings, and renewable energy events.
  • Drive revenue growth and achieve business development targets aligned with company objectives.
  • Manage and mentor the BD team to enhance market coverage and project pipeline development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Business Administration, Energy Management, or related fields.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in business development, project development, or commercial roles within renewable energy, power generation, infrastructure, or utilities sectors.
  • Strong experience handling large-scale B2G or public-sector projects in Thailand or Southeast Asia.
  • Solid network with government agencies, utilities, regulators, and energy-related stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy market, PPA structure, tender process, BOI, and energy regulations.
  • Proven track record in leading project bidding, negotiation, and deal closure for large infrastructure or energy projects.
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both Thai and English.
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally when required.
