What you'll do:
As an Area Sales Manager based in Bangkok, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of your team and the wider business.
- Implement effective sales planning strategies to drive district booking and revenue performance in alignment with organisational goals.
- Monitor key performance indicators using dashboards and CRM tools, taking proactive steps to address any deviations from targets.
- Manage opportunities throughout the entire sales funnel to ensure healthy pipeline development, accurate forecasting, and successful deal progression.
- Engage at a senior level with key strategic accounts to ensure alignment with regional and global frameworks while maximising customer satisfaction.
- Support resource allocation decisions, quota setting, prioritisation of activities, and execution plans in close collaboration with the Regional Sales Manager.
- Provide motivating leadership through regular field rides and joint customer visits with direct reports, setting clear objectives for improved sales effectiveness.
- Coach, mentor, and develop sales talent with a focus on performance improvement, skill enhancement, and long-term career growth within the team.
- Foster an inclusive work environment that reinforces core values such as accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to leverage full organisational capabilities for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Review top district opportunities regularly to improve deal quality, win probability, and maintain disciplined opportunity management.
What you bring:
To excel as an Area Sales Manager in this organisation, you will bring extensive experience from the industrial automation or machine vision sectors—ideally having spent over ten years honing your craft in complex sales environments.
- A minimum of ten years’ relevant experience in sales roles within industrial automation, machine vision or related technology fields is required for this position.
- At least five years’ experience managing people within a sales environment is essential for success in this role.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and inspire sales professionals towards achieving shared goals is highly desirable.
- Exceptional communication skills are necessary for building strong relationships with customers as well as internal stakeholders across multiple regions.
- A solid analytical mindset combined with a commitment to data-driven decision making is crucial for monitoring KPIs and optimising performance.
- Experience operating effectively within matrixed multinational organisations is preferred due to the collaborative nature of this role.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another STEM discipline is preferred; equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout Thailand is required along with possession of a valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
