A leading multinational organisation in Bangkok is seeking a Senior Legal and Data Compliance Counsel to shape the future of legal and data. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to become the primary expert on all legal and data compliance matters—including privacy, AI governance, and cybersecurity—while collaborating closely with business stakeholders and navigating evolving regulations.

What you'll do:

* Serve as the Compliance Lead for Data Compliance, including Data Privacy, AI governance, and cybersecurity, ensuring comprehensive adherence to local regulations and global standards.

* Lead the Data Privacy Chapter by building robust programmes and fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organisation.

* Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments and manage investigations into any data privacy incidents in accordance with both group-wide and local policies.

* Design and deliver education initiatives to raise awareness of Data Compliance best practices among employees at all levels.

* Provide strategic legal advisory on Data Compliance matters such as reviewing agreements related to data processing and keeping abreast of legislative developments.

* Offer strategic legal assistance across commercial laws, consumer protection laws, antitrust, anti-corruption, technical regulations, advertising, intellectual property, counterfeiting, employment law, digital matters, and IT legal concerns.

* Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of legal agreements including commercial contracts, licensing deals, intragroup arrangements, digital projects, IT transactions, and property matters.

What you bring:

* Minimum of 8 years post-qualification experience in legal roles focused on data privacy within consumer-focused industries such as FMCG or e-commerce environments.

* CIPP or equivalent qualifications alongside proven experience managing data compliance programmes are highly desirable.

* Strong contract negotiation skills demonstrated through successful management of complex agreements across multiple domains.

* Understanding of IT challenges as well as digital transformation processes relevant to modern business operations.

* Work efficiency combined with flexibility enables you to adapt quickly within fast-changing environments while maintaining high standards.

* Excellent interpersonal skills including communication proficiency in both Thai and English; ability to present ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
