Legal Manager (Insurance)

A distinguished insurance provider in Bangkok is seeking a Legal Manager to preside over all legal facets of its operations, ensuring unwavering compliance with both domestic and international statutes.

What you'll do:

* Formulate and execute comprehensive legal strategies that are congruent with business objectives, thereby mitigating risks whilst fostering organisational advancement.

* Draft, scrutinise, and negotiate an extensive array of contracts and agreements to ensure adherence to legal requirements and safeguard the company’s interests.

* Supervise ongoing compliance with pertinent laws, regulations, and internal policies across all operational domains of the company.

* Fulfil the duties of Company Secretary by facilitating board and committee meetings, maintaining statutory records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and advising on best practices for corporate governance.

* Develop, review, and refine company policies and procedures to promote ethical conduct within the organisation whilst ensuring conformity with legal mandates.

* Serve as the principal liaison for regulatory agencies by managing submissions, addressing inquiries, and ensuring timely compliance with all regulatory obligations.

* Support the APAC Center of Excellence model by coordinating regional initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and facilitating implementation of projects originating from the APAC office.

What you bring:

* Bachelor’s degree in Law is mandatory; a Master’s degree (LL.M) or equivalent qualification is preferred for this appointment.

* Minimum 6-8 years’ experience in progressively responsible legal roles within the insurance industry—particularly non-life insurance—with demonstrable expertise in product development, distribution, or claims processing.

* Profound understanding of insurance laws, regulations, industry standards applicable specifically to non-life insurance products.

* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both Thai and English so you may convey intricate concepts clearly to diverse audiences including senior management.
