A leading and rapidly expanding quick service restaurant and food retail group in Thailand is seeking a Head of Business Optimisation to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of their commercial success. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to step into a high-impact position where your expertise will directly influence profitability, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.
- Take ownership of end-to-end commercial performance by driving cost reduction initiatives, optimising delivery channels, and ensuring every new store investment delivers disciplined returns.

- Enjoy a supportive leadership environment that values your analytical rigour, encourages knowledge sharing, and provides opportunities for personal growth as you help shape the next phase of expansion.
What you'll do:
As Head of Business Optimisation – Quick Service Restaurant and Food Retail in Bangkok, you will be entrusted with transforming data into action across multiple facets of the business. Your day-to-day activities will see you partnering with diverse teams to analyse profitability drivers at granular levels while spearheading projects that deliver measurable improvements in cost control and operational efficiency. You will play a central role in evaluating new store investments using robust financial models that inform smarter capital allocation decisions. By embedding advanced analytics into everyday processes—from menu engineering to delivery channel management—you will enable faster responses to market changes while safeguarding margins. Your ability to nurture talent within the team will be crucial as you build stronger reporting disciplines and foster accountability for key performance indicators. Ultimately, your work will ensure that rapid growth translates into sustainable value creation for the entire organisation.
- Conduct comprehensive profitability analysis at both store and channel levels, covering sales performance, gross margins, cost of goods sold (COGS), cost of labour (COL), contribution metrics, EBITDA drivers, and cash flow impacts.
- Lead strategic commercial improvement projects targeting procurement processes, packaging optimisation, waste minimisation, efficient labour deployment, enhanced delivery economics, and identification of margin leakage points.
- Review menu items and product lines through detailed margin versus volume analysis to support informed decisions on pricing strategies, product mix adjustments, bundling opportunities, and limited time offers (LTOs).
- Develop robust unit economics models for new store openings by analysing capital expenditure efficiency, breakeven timelines, contribution margins, payback periods, and long-term return on investment projections.
- Collaborate extensively with operations, finance, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure all major business decisions are underpinned by clear commercial logic and actionable insights.
What you bring:
To excel as Head of Business Optimisation – Quick Service Restaurant and Food Retail in this thriving environment requires more than technical proficiency; it demands a blend of hands-on experience in commercial performance roles coupled with an empathetic approach towards team development. Your background should reflect significant exposure to fast-growing consumer businesses where you have successfully navigated challenges related to cost control or operational scaling. A deep appreciation for unit economics is essential—as is your capacity for translating analytical insights into practical steps that drive measurable outcomes.
- At least seven years’ experience in roles focused on commercial performance management, consulting engagements related to business transformation or strategy execution within consumer-facing sectors such as QSR or food retail.
- Demonstrated track record in environments characterised by fast-scaling operations—ideally including exposure to start-ups or delivery-led consumer businesses where agility is paramount.
- Deep understanding of unit economics principles including store-level profit-and-loss statements (P&L), cost structure analysis, margin optimisation techniques, and return on investment calculations relevant to multi-site retail operations.
- Proven ability to identify opportunities for profit improvement through rigorous analysis followed by practical implementation plans that deliver real-world results rather than theoretical recommendations alone.
- Exceptional analytical skills combined with commercial acumen; comfortable challenging assumptions when economic fundamentals do not align with proposed actions while remaining sensitive to team dynamics.
- Hands-on approach with willingness to engage at both boardroom level for strategic discussions as well as at ground level within stores to validate findings or implement solutions directly alongside frontline staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration across departments; able to develop people’s capabilities while building consensus around shared goals for commercial success.
- Familiarity with Thailand’s food & beverage market landscape—including local sourcing practices or experience working with third-party delivery platforms—would be highly advantageous but not essential.
- Experience utilising AI-powered analytics tools or automation platforms for enhanced forecasting accuracy and improved business intelligence reporting would be beneficial.
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders while inspiring confidence in your recommendations.
