What you'll do:

• Oversee and coordinate all departmental operations to ensure efficiency, alignment with organizational goals, and a collaborative team environment.
• Provide expert technical consultancy, conduct training for new specialists, and empower the team to excel through hands-on guidance.
• Develop detailed annual work plans, delegate tasks based on individual strengths, and monitor multiple projects simultaneously to ensure they meet timelines and quality benchmarks.
• Meticulously review laboratory and field data, instruct re-verifications when necessary, and ensure all final reports meet stringent academic and professional standards.
• Present environmental compliance reports to project partners, government agencies, and community representatives.
• Conduct on-site inspections to verify the implementation of environmental measures and provide support for ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
• Summarize departmental performance regularly for executive management review.

What you bring:

• A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Health, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field (a master’s degree is considered an advantage).
• A minimum of 10 years of proven experience in managing environmental monitoring for industrial or research projects.
• A strong background in Environmental, Occupational Health, and Safety (EHS) and a deep understanding of regulatory compliance.
• Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for efficient project documentation and reporting.
• Good communication in English (reading, speaking, and writing) to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
• Exceptional organizational abilities to manage multiple concurrent projects, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to remain composed under pressure.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills to build trust and foster positive relationships with team members, clients, and external partners.
• A high sense of responsibility, unwavering ethical standards, and sensitivity when handling confidential information.
• A willingness to travel upcountry for hands-on involvement in field operations.
