Operations Excellence Manager

What you'll do:
- Lead and implement continuous improvement projects that target productivity enhancement, efficiency gains, waste reduction, cost optimisation, and improved operational performance throughout manufacturing operations.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma, TPM, and structured problem-solving methodologies to elevate manufacturing processes and deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Identify operational gaps by conducting thorough assessments and develop sustainable improvement plans that address root causes across plant operations.
- Monitor and analyse key operational performance indicators such as production efficiency, material utilisation, labour productivity, utilities consumption, and cost performance to inform strategic decisions.
- Conduct detailed data analysis and root cause investigations to support informed decision-making and drive performance improvement initiatives across the organisation.
- Ensure timely and accurate operational reporting that aligns with internal standards and meets business requirements for transparency and accountability.
- Support digitalisation initiatives by managing projects aimed at improving operational visibility, process efficiency, and enabling data-driven decision-making through advanced tools.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement digital tools, systems, and reporting platforms that enhance operational effectiveness.
- Build continuous improvement capabilities across teams by providing coaching, training sessions, and facilitating knowledge sharing activities to promote a culture of learning.
- Partner with operations, engineering, quality assurance, supply chain management, and other functions to drive improvement projects and sustainability initiatives while participating in special assignments as needed.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Operations Management or a related field is required for this position.
- A postgraduate qualification such as an MBA would be considered advantageous for candidates seeking further development.
- At least 8 years of experience working within manufacturing environments or related fields such as operations or supply chain is expected from ideal candidates.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred to demonstrate proficiency in continuous improvement methodologies.
- A strong understanding of manufacturing operations coupled with knowledge of continuous improvement principles and operational excellence frameworks is essential.
- Excellent analytical skills are necessary for monitoring KPIs; project management abilities are vital for leading complex initiatives; problem-solving skills are crucial for addressing root causes effectively.
- Outstanding communication skills paired with stakeholder management capabilities enable you to collaborate successfully across multiple functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite as well as analytical tools like Power BI, Minitab or Power Apps is highly desirable for supporting digital transformation efforts.
- Hands-on experience leading continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma or TPM methodologies demonstrates your practical expertise in driving change.
- A proven track record in productivity improvement projects, cost reduction strategies, operational optimisation efforts, and digital transformation assignments highlights your ability to deliver tangible results.
