Head of Credit Risk Control ( Securities)

What you'll do:
As Head of Credit Risk Control, you will be entrusted with end-to-end responsibility for managing client credit risk within a dynamic securities brokerage environment. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with multiple teams across the organisation as you oversee the approval of credit limits for margin trading accounts, monitor exposures in real time, and ensure prompt action is taken when clients approach or exceed their limits. You will also play an instrumental role in shaping credit policy in line with regulatory expectations while maintaining rigorous standards for portfolio quality. Regular reporting to both local leadership and regional headquarters will keep you at the centre of strategic decision-making. Success in this role requires not only technical expertise but also strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to build trust-based relationships across departments while upholding the highest standards of governance.
- Evaluating the creditworthiness of retail clientsandinstitutional clients or other forms of credit by analyzing their financial statements, credit history, and other relevant factors.And also determining the probability of default and potential losses associated with investing in securities and other financial products
- Daily monitoring and controlling all related risks (Equity, Derivatives, Fixed Income and OTC products) to ensure it complies with the Company’s policy and is under regulations
- Developing and implementing credit risk mitigation strategies, such as setting credit limits, requiring collateral, restructuring loansor diversifying investments
- Creating, updating and developing credit risk policies and procedures to ensure they align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Identifying opportunities to automate or streamline credit risk management processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Actively contributed to multiple risk-related projects by drafting policies, formulating operational guidelines, and engaging in system design and testing.
What you bring:
To excel as Head of Credit Risk Control, your background should include substantial experience in managing credit risk within securities brokerage environments—particularly those involving margin lending. Your understanding of regulatory frameworks governing credit activities will allow you to develop policies that not only meet compliance requirements but also support sustainable business growth.
You will bring advanced analytical abilities that help you interpret complex data sets related to client exposures while remaining vigilant about emerging risks. - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, Business Administration or related field
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in risk management and process improvement within financial industry with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of credit risks especially credit analysis, share finance, margin loan, regulatory requirements
- Strong leadership, analytical thinking, stakeholder communication skill.
- Extensive experience managing credit risk within a securities brokerage or similar financial institution, ideally with direct exposure to margin lending operations
- Proven track record of setting and enforcing credit policies that comply with local regulations such as those issued by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand
- Strong analytical skills enabling you to assess client exposures accurately, identify concentration risks, and evaluate collateral adequacy under varying market conditions
- Demonstrated ability to manage force sell processes and margin calls efficiently while maintaining positive relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills in English are essential for preparing reports for regional headquarters and collaborating effectively with cross-border teams
- Experience working closely with Front Office functions (sales/trading), Risk Management, Compliance, and other support departments within a financial services context
- Familiarity with portfolio quality control techniques aimed at preventing bad debt or minimising losses from client defaults
- Comfortable operating at senior management level with direct reporting lines to C-suite executives both locally and internationally
- A collaborative mindset that supports knowledge-sharing, teamwork, and continuous improvement across all areas of responsibility
