Head of Customer Service (Medical Assistant)
An exciting opportunity awaits for an experienced and compassionate professional to step into the role of Head of Customer Service Medical Assistant at a leading international organisation based in Bangkok. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a multicultural, customer-focused setting and is passionate about supporting both people and processes. As the right candidate, your ability to nurture, guide, and inspire diverse teams will be highly valued, as will your expertise in medical assistance, insurance, healthcare, or travel services. You will play a pivotal part in shaping the day-to-day operations of a busy Assistance Center, ensuring that every client receives exceptional care while fostering a supportive and collaborative team culture. The organisation offers flexible working opportunities and places a strong emphasis on training and professional growth, making this an ideal environment for those who are eager to develop their skills and make a meaningful impact.
What you'll do:
As Head of Customer Service Medical Assistant, you will be entrusted with nurturing a collaborative team environment where every member feels supported in their personal development journey. Your daily responsibilities will involve working closely with both International and Nordic teams to ensure seamless operations within the Assistance Center. By providing mentorship rooted in empathy and understanding, you will help cultivate a culture that values open communication and shared success. You will also play an instrumental role in refining operational processes—balancing resource allocation with quality assurance—to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients. Your involvement in business support activities such as budgeting or project participation will further contribute to organisational growth. Success in this role hinges on your ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds while driving continuous improvement across all facets of service delivery.
- Support the Assistance Center Manager in guiding, coaching, developing, and evaluating both International and Nordic Assistance Teams to achieve high levels of performance.
- Mentor team members with compassion and understanding to foster professional growth and create an inclusive, customer-focused workplace culture.
- Assist with recruitment activities including onboarding new staff members, managing performance reviews, and planning for future succession needs within the team.
- Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the Assistance Center by optimising staffing levels, refining case handling processes, maximising system utilisation, maintaining quality standards, and controlling costs effectively.
- Monitor operational performance metrics such as productivity and service quality to ensure that all cases are handled efficiently and with care.
- Provide expert guidance on complex or multilingual assistance cases while supporting team members through challenging situations with sensitivity.
- Contribute to the implementation of Quality Assurance initiatives and training programmes that uphold high standards across all aspects of service delivery.
- Develop, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency in operations while identifying opportunities for process improvements.
- Assist with business support functions such as budgeting, reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs), evaluating overall performance trends, and participating in strategic projects or business development activities.
- Engage actively in continuous improvement efforts by identifying areas where operational efficiency or service delivery can be enhanced for the benefit of both clients and colleagues.
What you bring:
To excel as Head of Customer Service Medical Assistant you will bring not only technical expertise but also genuine warmth when interacting with colleagues from various backgrounds. Your previous experience managing multicultural teams has equipped you with deep insight into how best to motivate others while respecting individual perspectives. You are adept at balancing multiple tasks simultaneously—whether it’s overseeing complex casework or implementing new procedures—without losing sight of what matters most: delivering compassionate support for those who need it most. Your fluency in English ensures clear communication across borders while any additional language skills further enhance your ability to serve international clients effectively. Above all else your commitment to collaboration sets you apart; you understand that true success comes from working together towards shared goals rather than seeking personal recognition.
- Demonstrated experience leading or coaching multicultural teams within customer service-oriented environments such as assistance centres, insurance providers, healthcare organisations or travel services.
- A proven track record in customer service or case management roles where empathy and effective communication have been central to resolving client needs.
- Exceptional organisational abilities paired with multitasking skills that enable you to manage competing priorities without compromising attention to detail or quality standards.
- Proficiency using CRM systems or case management software alongside strong familiarity with Microsoft Office applications for reporting purposes.
- Outstanding written and spoken English communication skills; additional regional language proficiency would be considered an advantage when supporting international clients.
- Experience handling medical assistance cases, travel assistance requests or insurance claims is highly desirable due to the nature of client interactions involved in this position.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management Studies, Healthcare Administration or another relevant discipline—or equivalent practical experience gained through related roles.
- A collaborative approach that values teamwork over individual achievement while demonstrating sensitivity towards cultural differences within global teams.
- Commitment to upholding high ethical standards when dealing with confidential information or sensitive client cases as part of daily operations.
