Save job

A leading financial institution in Bangkok is seeking a highly experienced Head of Finance to join their senior management team. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to shape the financial direction of a prominent bank, overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, planning, and compliance.

You will play a crucial part in driving operational excellence, ensuring regulatory adherence, and supporting business growth through insightful analysis and strategic guidance. The organisation values your expertise in both local and international accounting standards, as well as your ability to foster collaboration across departments. With a strong commitment to professional development and a supportive work environment, this is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished finance leader looking to make a significant impact within the banking sector.

* Take on a key leadership position with full responsibility for financial operations, reporting, and compliance across the entire organisation, influencing major business decisions at the highest level.
* Enjoy a collaborative culture that encourages continuous improvement, automation of processes, and open communication between internal teams and external stakeholders.
* Benefit from flexible working opportunities and ongoing training initiatives designed to support your professional growth and ensure you remain at the forefront of industry best practices.

What you'll do:

As Head of Finance, you will be entrusted with end-to-end oversight of all core finance functions within the bank. Your day-to-day activities will involve preparing detailed financial statements across multiple timeframes, managing complex budgeting cycles, handling tax submissions, and ensuring seamless reconciliation processes. You will also be responsible for maintaining robust controls over fixed assets and upholding strict compliance with both internal policies and external regulations. Supervising a skilled team, you will guide them towards achieving operational excellence while fostering an environment that values accuracy, transparency, and process enhancement. Your ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders—ranging from internal department heads to external authorities—will be essential in delivering timely information that supports informed decision-making. Additionally, you will champion initiatives aimed at automating workflows to drive efficiency throughout the finance function.

* Prepare comprehensive profit and loss statements and related financial reports on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual bases to provide accurate insights into organisational performance.
* Lead the creation, review, and maintenance of annual budgets and forecasts while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
* Oversee the preparation of annual tax returns for the bank and manage communications with relevant authorities regarding taxation matters.
* Monitor accounting general ledger entries closely by investigating discrepancies and creating new entries for emerging products or services.
* Ensure all departmental accounting transactions are accurately recorded each month to maintain integrity in financial data.
* Manage the bank’s payables function efficiently while verifying reconciliation of daily and monthly accounting entries including nostro and vostro accounts.
* Maintain the fixed asset register for all assets within Thailand, ensuring compliance with depreciation policies and accepted accounting practices.
* Perform timely general ledger closings for monthly, half-yearly, and annual periods including provision setting, tax calculations, gross profit verification, and currency revaluation.
* Supervise a dedicated team of finance staff to ensure duties are performed in accordance with employment conditions including payment utilities and service level agreements.
* Review all related financial reporting submitted to Head Office for accuracy while extracting and communicating financial data requests from authorised personnel both internally and externally.

What you bring:

To excel as Head of Finance within this respected banking institution, you will bring extensive experience gained from progressively senior roles within finance or accounting—ideally within the banking sector itself. Your academic credentials will be complemented by professional certifications that reflect your commitment to ongoing learning. You will have demonstrated your ability to navigate complex regulatory environments while delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines. Your interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong relationships across departments as well as externally with auditors or regulators. A keen eye for detail paired with an appreciation for broader business strategy allows you to balance precision with big-picture thinking. Your technical acumen in leveraging modern financial systems ensures that you can drive process improvements while maintaining rigorous standards of accuracy. Above all else, your ethical approach inspires confidence among colleagues who rely on your guidance during critical decision-making moments.

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field is required to ensure foundational knowledge in core disciplines.
* Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA or CFA is preferred as it demonstrates advanced technical proficiency.
* A minimum of 15 years’ progressive experience in finance and accounting roles with at least 10 years spent in senior leadership positions is essential for success in this role.
* Extensive experience within the banking sector is highly advantageous due to specific regulatory requirements.
* Familiarity with Bank of Thailand rules, regulations, and reporting standards is critical for effective compliance management.
* Proven track record in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management ensures sound fiscal stewardship.
* Strong background in strategic financial management coupled with business partnering skills enables effective collaboration across functions.
* Experience managing external audits as well as tax planning and regulatory compliance is necessary for maintaining organisational integrity.
* In-depth knowledge of IFRS/GAAP accounting principles alongside current financial regulations underpins accurate reporting practices.
* Advanced proficiency in using ERP systems along with Excel or Power BI supports efficient data analysis and reporting capabilities.
* Exceptional leadership abilities combined with people management skills foster a supportive team environment focused on shared goals.
* High levels of integrity, ethics, professionalism and stakeholder management skills are vital for building trust across all levels of the organisation.
