What you'll do:

As a Senior Relationship Manager, Financial Institutions (Chinese Speaking), you will play a pivotal role in developing strong connections with institutional clients across Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve expanding your portfolio through proactive client engagement, supporting onboarding processes, preparing credit proposals, and compiling insightful reports for management review. • Develop and nurture a portfolio of accounts within Institutional Banking by understanding client needs and providing suitable banking services.
• Identify potential clients in the market through prospecting activities and expand the existing customer base by offering relevant financial solutions.
• Assist with Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures and facilitate smooth client onboarding processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Prepare detailed credit proposals in accordance with delegated authority, demonstrating thorough knowledge of financial analysis and risk assessment.
• Compile various management reports that provide insights into portfolio performance and support strategic decision-making.
• Participate in on-the-job training programmes designed to enhance your skills and knowledge within the organisation’s framework.
• Undertake short-term assignments in Southeast Asian entities as required by business needs, gaining valuable cross-regional experience.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Relationship Manager position will bring substantial experience from the financial sector—particularly within institutional banking—alongside proven managerial capabilities. Your academic background should include a degree or higher qualification relevant to business administration or finance. • Proven track record in relationship management for institutional banking clients at global banks or top local banks in Southeast Asia is highly advantageous.
• Professional qualifications in Financial Analysis or Accounting would be beneficial for preparing credit proposals and analysing client portfolios.
• Comprehensive knowledge of corporate/institutional banking products including treasury, trade finance, and cash management services is expected.
• Familiarity with general banking operations as well as legal and regulatory requirements ensures compliance throughout all processes.
• Expertise in financial analysis or credit analysis supports effective risk assessment when preparing proposals.
• Excellent command of both spoken and written English is mandatory; fluency in Chinese is preferred; proficiency in local languages such as Indonesian, Thai, Filipino or Malay would be an asset.
• Advanced skills in MS Office applications enable efficient report preparation and data analysis.
