This pivotal role is designed for someone who thrives on shaping product strategies, driving business planning, and overseeing the entire lifecycle of innovative insurance products. You will be empowered to work closely with talented teams across Actuarial, Underwriting, IT, Finance, Marketing, and Claims, ensuring every product not only meets regulatory standards but also delivers outstanding value to customers.

What you'll do:

As Vice President of Product Development based in Bangkok, you will play a central role in shaping the future of the organisation’s insurance offerings. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve steering strategic planning sessions, guiding teams through complex project milestones, and ensuring every stage of the product lifecycle is executed flawlessly. You will be instrumental in translating market insights into actionable plans that result in compelling products tailored to customer needs. By collaborating closely with colleagues from various departments—including actuarial science experts, underwriters, IT professionals, finance specialists, marketing strategists, and claims managers—you will ensure each launch is meticulously planned and delivered. Success in this role requires a keen eye for detail when it comes to regulatory compliance as well as an ability to inspire others towards shared goals. Your efforts will directly contribute to sustained portfolio growth while reinforcing the organisation’s reputation for reliability and innovation.

  • Lead the formulation and execution of comprehensive product development strategies that are fully aligned with the organisation’s overarching goals and vision.
  • Oversee all aspects of the end-to-end product development process, including initial concept design, pricing coordination, profitability analysis, regulatory approval processes, and successful product launches.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as Actuarial, Underwriting, IT, Finance, Marketing, and Claims to ensure each new product is implemented effectively and achieves desired business outcomes.
  • Ensure all products strictly adhere to OIC regulations as well as internal company policies by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal requirements.
  • Drive annual business planning activities and budgeting processes related to the product portfolio, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently for maximum impact.
  • Monitor portfolio performance post-launch by analysing data trends and making recommendations for continuous improvement based on insights gathered from various stakeholders.
  • Provide clear direction and mentorship to team members involved in product development projects, fostering a culture of cooperation and shared achievement.
  • Engage regularly with senior management and external partners to communicate progress on key initiatives and address any challenges that may arise during the development cycle.
  • Champion best practices in stakeholder management by building strong relationships both within the organisation and externally with regulators or industry bodies.

What you bring:

To excel as Vice President of Product Development you will draw upon extensive experience gained within the insurance industry—ideally spanning more than a decade—with particular emphasis on developing new products or managing underwriting portfolios. Your academic background provides a solid foundation for understanding risk management principles while your hands-on exposure equips you with practical insights into what makes insurance solutions successful in today’s market. Beyond technical proficiency you are recognised for your interpersonal skills: you know how to foster collaboration among diverse groups; you listen actively; you communicate thoughtfully; and you always act with integrity.   • A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Insurance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science or a closely related field is essential for this position.
  • You bring at least 10–15 years of experience within the insurance sector—particularly focused on product development, underwriting or reinsurance functions—which enables you to navigate complex industry dynamics with ease.
  • A minimum of five years’ proven experience managing teams or leading major projects demonstrates your ability to nurture talent and drive results through effective collaboration.
  • Your deep understanding of insurance products includes expertise in pricing methodologies, profitability analysis techniques, and navigating intricate regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent command of English communication skills allows you to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally.
  • You possess advanced strategic thinking abilities coupled with strong presentation skills that enable you to articulate complex ideas clearly during meetings or public forums.
  • Demonstrated capability in stakeholder management ensures you can build trust-based relationships across departments as well as with external partners or regulators.
  • Your track record shows consistent delivery against business objectives by leveraging cross-functional teamwork for optimal outcomes.
