Accounting & Finance Manager (Japanese Trading Firm)

A leading Japanese trading company’s Thai subsidiary is seeking a Finance and Accounting Manager (X1 vacancy) to become a core member of its finance and accounting function. The role offers the chance to work closely with both Thai and Japanese management teams, contributing to organisational enhancement and operational excellence.

As Finance and Accounting Manager, you will play an integral role in shaping the financial landscape of this prominent trading company’s Thai operations. Your day-to-day activities will involve managing complex financial processes, reviewing critical reports for accuracy and improvement opportunities, responding proactively to audit requests, tax matters, and internal controls. You will collaborate closely with both Thai colleagues and Japanese members to ensure seamless communication across business divisions.

The package includes base salary + performance bonus + provident fund

• Oversee the management and coordination of all finance and accounting operations within the Thai entity and its group companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Review monthly and annual financial closing processes as well as various reports, identifying areas for improvement and proposing actionable solutions.
• Respond to external audit requirements, tax matters, and internal control issues by liaising with auditors, banks, tax authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Support planning and operation of cash management activities, budget control processes, and management accounting functions alongside the Finance Manager.
• Facilitate effective communication between the local team, Japan Head Office, Regional Headquarters, and other group companies in Thailand.
• Develop team members through coaching initiatives while promoting process improvements across finance and accounting workflows.
• Adjust responsibilities based on entry position (Manager/Assistant GM/Deputy GM) to best match your experience and capabilities.
• Contribute to wider corporate administration areas as required by organisational needs or your aptitude.
• Ensure high standards of compliance are maintained throughout all financial operations with sensitivity to internal controls.
• Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing digitalisation or process efficiency within the finance department.

You have demonstrated reliability through hands-on involvement in financial closings under Thai GAAP as well as preparing financial statements for audits. International exposure—particularly reporting to parent companies—has honed your ability to navigate cross-cultural environments using English fluently. In addition to technical prowess, your interpersonal abilities allow you to coordinate effectively between local staff members and Japanese members. • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics is essential for this position.
• More than 10 years’ practical experience in accounting or finance roles is required to ensure depth of expertise.
• Hands-on experience with monthly and annual closing under Thai GAAP is necessary for accurate reporting.
• Proven responsibility for financial statements preparation and external audit processes demonstrates reliability.
• Experience reporting to parent companies or overseas head offices using English emails and basic reports is vital for international coordination.
• Ability to communicate externally with management teams, auditors, banks or tax authorities ensures smooth operations.
• Leadership experience managing small teams highlights your capacity for nurturing talent.
• Business-level English proficiency enables effective communication with Japanese members and regional headquarters.
• Strong communication skills are needed for coordination between Thai staff, Japanese members, head office representatives, and regional headquarters.
