A leading organisation in the renewable energy sector is seeking an Asset Management Specialist (x1 vacancy) to join their Bangkok-based team. This role offers you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by monitoring and analysing the financial and operational performance of a diverse portfolio of operating assets.

As an Asset Management Specialist – Renewable Energy based in Bangkok, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial and operational health of a portfolio of assets within the energy sector. Your day-to-day activities will involve monitoring key metrics such as production output, availability rates, operating expenses, revenue generation, and profitability. You will prepare detailed reports for management review while investigating any variances in performance data to recommend improvements.

The package includes base salary + performance bonus + provident fund

  • Monitor financial and operational performance of assigned energy assets by identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities that impact overall business outcomes.
  • Track and analyse key performance indicators such as production levels, availability rates, operating costs, revenue streams, and profitability metrics across the asset portfolio.
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual asset performance reports for management review to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Investigate variances in asset performance data and provide actionable recommendations for improvement based on thorough analysis.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial models for asset valuation, forecasting, budgeting processes, and scenario analysis to support business planning.
  • Support annual budgeting cycles and periodic forecasting activities by providing accurate financial insights and projections.
  • Analyse asset cash flows, profitability measures, return metrics, and perform sensitivity analyses to evaluate the financial impact of operational or commercial initiatives.
  • Prepare management presentations as well as business performance reports that communicate complex findings in an accessible manner.
  • Work closely with operations teams to understand performance drivers while supporting continuous improvement initiatives aimed at efficiency enhancement and cost optimisation.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders across operations, finance, accounting, commercial, and technical functions to ensure alignment on reporting requirements for management, shareholders, lenders, and business partners.

What you bring:

For the Asset Management Specialist – Energy and Renewable Energy position in Bangkok, your proven experience should include a solid academic foundation coupled with practical exposure to asset management or related fields such as financial analysis or project finance. Ideally you have worked within infrastructure sectors like energy generation or utilities where managing large portfolios of assets was part of your remit. Your advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel allows you to build sophisticated financial models while PowerPoint skills help you communicate findings effectively. You possess strong analytical abilities that enable you not only to interpret operational data but also translate it into meaningful business insights. Effective inter-personal communication is crucial; you must be able to collaborate across departments including operations, finance and commercial teams. Attention to detail ensures accuracy when preparing reports or investigating variances while your organisational skills help manage competing priorities smoothly. Presentation skills are important for conveying complex information during stakeholder meetings. Above all else your proactive attitude towards continuous improvement demonstrates commitment both to personal development and organisational success.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field is required for this position.
  • You bring 3–8 years of experience in asset management roles or related areas such as financial analysis, project finance, corporate finance, business planning or investment analysis.
  • Experience within infrastructure sectors including energy generation (renewable or conventional), utilities or other asset-intensive businesses is highly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modelling tasks as well as PowerPoint for preparing impactful presentations is essential.
  • Your strong analytical capabilities enable you to interpret operational performance data accurately while translating findings into actionable financial insights.
  • You demonstrate effective communication skills that allow you to coordinate seamlessly with internal stakeholders across various functions.
  • Detail-oriented approach combined with dependable problem-solving abilities ensures accuracy in reporting and recommendations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently within a dynamic environment reflects your organisational skills.
