An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Regional Legal Counsel to join a globally recognised B2B company at their Bangkok office, supporting the Asia Pacific market.

What you'll do:

You will immerse yourself in a diverse array of responsibilities that span drafting intricate international agreements to guiding cross-functional teams through complex legal landscapes.

* Draft, review, and negotiate international master agreements as well as individual project contracts with global customers in the engineering sector, ensuring all terms are clear and compliant with relevant laws.

* Resolve complex legal issues related to international trade, commercial transactions, and contract law by providing practical solutions that support business objectives.

* Deliver expert legal advice throughout all phases of project processing and service delivery, helping teams navigate regulatory requirements and contractual obligations.

* Support regional subsidiaries by addressing corporate governance matters and contract law queries, fostering consistent legal standards across multiple jurisdictions.

* Optimise risk management frameworks and contract controlling processes to safeguard organisational interests while enabling efficient project execution.

* Assist with conceptual claim management by identifying potential risks early and developing effective mitigation strategies in collaboration with project stakeholders.

* Advise sales and project managers on all legal aspects of their activities within the market zone, ensuring alignment between commercial goals and regulatory compliance.

* Provide interdisciplinary training sessions for employees on key legal topics, enhancing overall awareness of compliance requirements throughout the organisation.

* Act as the local point of contact for Compliance, Data Protection, and Information Security matters, supporting central departments in implementing policies and enforcing measures effectively.

* Report directly to the head of Legal Affairs in Germany regarding subject matter expertise while adhering to local company disciplinary structures.

What you bring:

Your background should reflect substantial experience navigating the intricacies of commercial transactions within an industrial context.

* A fully qualified lawyer or equivalent with an advanced degree in law from a reputable institution, demonstrating comprehensive understanding of legal principles relevant to industrial operations.

* Proven 7-20 years of experience working within the legal department of an industrial or engineering company where you have developed strong skills in commercial law, trade law, or similar fields through hands-on practice.

* A deep interest in both commercial operations and technical matters that enables you to bridge gaps between legal requirements and business objectives effectively.

* Fluency in business English is essential; proficiency in additional languages such as those spoken across Asia Pacific would be considered advantageous for communicating with regional partners.

* Demonstrated intercultural competence gained through previous roles involving cross-border collaboration or direct experience working within the Asia Pacific region.

* High level of proficiency using standard MS Office applications along with a willingness to adopt new e-tools that enhance efficiency in document management or communication.

* Willingness to travel occasionally both domestically within Thailand and internationally as required by project demands or stakeholder meetings.

* Excellent interpersonal communication skills combined with persuasive abilities that allow you to explain complex concepts clearly to non-legal audiences.

* A methodical approach to work characterised by attention to detail, reliability under pressure, and sensitivity towards diverse perspectives within multinational teams.
