What you'll do:
As a Sales Engineer – Power Plant Instrumentation based in Bangkok, you will be instrumental in launching cutting-edge products designed specifically for power plants and energy distribution networks.
- Develop and execute business development strategies to introduce new instrumentation products into the Thai power plant market, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with key customers in the power generation and distribution sectors, including utility companies and related organisations
- Act as the primary point of contact for all matters related to MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations) sales within Thailand, focusing on both existing accounts and new business opportunities
- Collaborate closely with the General Manager in Thailand to report on progress, share insights from the field, and refine go-to-market approaches based on customer needs
- Engage with technical support teams based in Malaysia to ensure seamless delivery of solutions and address any client queries or challenges promptly
- Identify emerging trends within the industry by maintaining regular communication with stakeholders such as EPC firms, OEMs, and major utility providers like EGAT, MEA, and PEA
- Participate actively in strategy planning sessions aimed at expanding market presence for SF6 and WeGrid products throughout Thailand
- Provide detailed product demonstrations and technical presentations tailored to the requirements of medium/high-voltage substation equipment users
- Support marketing initiatives by sharing customer feedback and contributing ideas for promotional activities targeting the power/energy sector
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline status, and customer interactions using internal systems.
What you bring:
In this Sales Engineer – Power Plant Instrumentation role, your proven experience within the energy sector—particularly involving substation equipment or switchgear—will set you apart as a trusted advisor to customers navigating complex operational challenges.
- 3-5 years’ experience within the power/energy sector or related fields such as medium/high-voltage substation equipment or switchgear technologies is highly desirable
- Technical knowledge relevant to instrumentation used in power plants or similar environments is essential for success in this position
- Experience working with utility companies (such as EGAT, MEA, PEA), EPC firms or OEMs is considered advantageous but not mandatory
- Familiarity with MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations) sales processes within B2B industrial contexts will be beneficial when engaging with customers
- Openness to listen attentively to customer inputs and adapt quickly to new environments is crucial for building trust-based relationships
- Willingness to embrace technical sales roles with passion, dedication, and focus on serving the needs of the power transmission/distribution market segment is expected
- Proficiency in both Thai and English languages is required for effective communication across diverse stakeholder groups
