What you'll do:

As a Key Account Manager Automotive based in Bangkok, you will be entrusted with overseeing all aspects of client relationship management within the automotive industry.

  • Formulate and propose short- and mid-term plans as well as strategic objectives for effective resource allocation and market segment planning within the automotive sector.
  • Prepare comprehensive sales plans based on the Annual Business Plan, including tailored strategies for each customer or segment and concepts for further market development.
  • Prospect and develop new accounts within the assigned territory through activities such as cold calls, project initiation, monitoring progress, and following up to ensure high success rates in winning projects.
  • Conduct market surveys when appropriate and provide regular feedback on emerging markets and trends to inform business decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with borderless business support personnel to achieve cross-regional business objectives and enhance overall performance.
  • Coordinate with internal resources such as marketing, technical, and product management teams to deliver value-added services that exceed customer expectations.
  • Manage sales activities through direct engagement with customers or via distributors while supporting distribution sales growth and identifying new business opportunities in defined markets.
  • Develop detailed business plans and objectives for key customers, monitor progress against targets, and take corrective action when necessary to ensure goals are met.
  • Oversee pricing structures, service levels, and product assortments while formulating customer-specific sales strategies aligned with team objectives.
  • Work alongside the Customer Excellence team to ensure accurate order processing, manage outstanding accounts receivable according to company policy, and collaborate with Controlling on payment terms for new accounts.

What you bring:

To excel as a Key Account Manager Automotive in this organisation, you will bring proven experience from similar roles where you have successfully managed complex client portfolios within the automotive sector.

  • A bachelor’s degree majoring in Sales, Marketing, Business Management or an equivalent professional qualification is required for this position.
  • At least 7-10 years of relevant experience in sales or business development within the tape or related industries—preferably serving automotive businesses through direct channels or distributors—is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience working with OEM/OES clients on spec-in products is highly desirable for this role.
  • Proficiency in Japanese (at least JLPT level N2) would be considered a significant advantage but is not mandatory.
  • A trustworthy character combined with sound judgement ensures you can build lasting relationships based on mutual respect.
  • Strong interpersonal skills enable you to work collaboratively within diverse teams while communicating effectively at all organisational levels.
  • Excellent sales acumen allows you to devise effective tactics that align with broader business goals while remaining sensitive to customer needs.
