Category Manager (Construction Materials)

Our client is seeking a Category Manager (x1 vacancy) to join their team in Rayong. This individual contributor role is ideal for a procurement professional with a strong background in managing high-volume spend across direct, indirect, and CapEx categories. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping strategies, delivering cost efficiencies, and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

What you'll do:

As a Category Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading procurement categories. This is an individual role, you will be responsible for developing strategies that deliver cost effectiveness for your respective categories. Your strong interpersonal skills will enable you to build relationships with various stakeholders. You will also negotiate and manage contracts while ensuring risks in the supply chain are mitigated.

• Analyse, monitor, and manage categories through reviewing cost drivers, key input costs, index movements, and market trends
• Develop and implement strategies for respective categories to ensure cost effectiveness
• Manage relationships with stakeholders including internal users, suppliers, and communities across countries
• Negotiate and manage contracts effectively
• Analyse risks in supply chain and develop mitigation plans
• Increase contracted spend versus non-contracted spend
• Monitor changes in category such as when there are legal requirement changes

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Category Manager position brings a wealth of experience in Category Management and Strategic Sourcing. With at least 5 years' experience under your belt, you have a proven track record of success in this field. Your proficiency in MS Office coupled with your excellent English communication skills sets you apart from others. Your ability to negotiate effectively while influencing key decisions makes you an asset to any team. Above all else, your drive for improvement and achieving results is what truly defines you.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Commercial, Business Administrative or related fields
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Category Management and Strategic Sourcing
• Procurement & Supply Chain professional certificate i.e. Certificate in Procurement and Inventory Management
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel Spreadsheet, PowerPoint, Word Document)
• Good English communication skills both written and spoken
• Strong negotiation, influencing skills
• Ability to drive improvements and results
