Robert Walters Thailand officially launched a tech e-guide on how companies can attract and retain the very best tech talent on June 6, 2019. A number of well-known media outlets including TNN24 and Krungthep Turakij attended the session.
Julian Meissner, Manager - Tech & Transformation Division at Robert Walters Thailand shared five learnings from the tech e-guide - Five Lessons in Tackling the Tech Talent Shortage. These lessons were put together based on interviews with nine individuals, including business leaders, tech hiring managers and HR professionals, from companies across South East Asia. Additionally, Robert Walters conducted a survey with nearly 400 technology professionals and hiring managers across South East Asia.
There are five main lessons outlined in the guidebook:
- Go the extra mile
- Bring the meaning back to benefits
- The whole is greater than the sum of its parts
- Encourage 360 learning

Julian also shared that the survey found that 68% of hiring managers took three months or more to fill an open tech position on their team and tech hiring managers rated the difficulty level of hiring talent on an average score of 7, on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the hardest.
