A leading organisation in the industrial manufacturing sector is seeking a Production Manager (x1 vacancy) to oversee plant operations at their Rayong facility. This is an opportunity for you to bring your technical expertise in metal fabrication, welding, and process optimisation to a role where your leadership will directly impact production quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

What you'll do:

As Production Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the daily operations of a manufacturing plant. Your responsibilities will span from overseeing production schedules to ensuring that every process meets quality benchmarks. You will be instrumental in driving efficiency improvements through established methodologies like Lean and Kaizen while fostering a culture of safety that aligns with international standards.

The package includes guaranteed bonus, provident fund and health insurance

  • Oversee all aspects of plant operations including production planning, process control, maintenance coordination, and effective supervision.
  • Implement strategic production plans that align with organisational goals for quality, volume, cost management, and timely delivery of finished goods.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, Lean methodologies, and PFMEA to enhance operational efficiency across the plant.
  • Manage inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress items, and finished products to minimise waste while maintaining optimal stock for uninterrupted production.
  • Develop and nurture production teams through thoughtful manpower planning, overtime scheduling, skills development, and performance feedback.
  • Promote a robust health and safety culture by ensuring compliance with ISO 45001 standards and internal environmental health and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance departments to resolve operational challenges and streamline workflows.
  • Supervise the installation and commissioning of new equipment while liaising with global engineering teams to ensure successful integration into existing processes.
  • Support the development of advanced welding processes, material selection strategies (including steel/alloy), and strict adherence to WPS/API/EN/NACE standards.
  • Prepare detailed performance reports by analysing key performance indicators for senior management review and lead both internal and customer audits for quality assurance.

What you bring:

To excel as Production Manager in this role you will bring extensive experience from heavy industry settings where you have honed your technical acumen across multiple welding techniques. Your background will include proven success managing large teams while implementing best practices in health & safety management. You will possess an analytical mindset capable of interpreting complex data sets from ERP systems like SAP or JDE to inform decision-making around inventory control or process improvements. Your familiarity with international standards ensures compliance at every stage of production while your hands-on approach supports both equipment commissioning projects and ongoing staff development initiatives. Effective communication—both written and verbal—will enable you to collaborate seamlessly with colleagues from diverse backgrounds while preparing clear reports for senior stakeholders. Above all else your nurturing leadership style will foster trust among team members creating an environment where everyone feels supported valued—and motivated toward shared goals.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology, Welding Technology, Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required for this position.
  • At least 15 years’ experience within heavy industry environments such as metalwork or pipe manufacturing is essential; candidates must also have held managerial responsibilities for at least 5 years.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of welding methods including TIG, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW as well as forming and cladding processes is necessary.
  • Formal certification or training in safety management at executive or supervisory level is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with international standards such as ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), ISO 45001 (Health & Safety), API (American Petroleum Institute) and ASTM (American Society for Testing Materials) is expected.
  • Experience using ERP systems like SAP or JDE for production documentation and resource planning is important.
  • Demonstrated skill in QMS auditing along with thorough understanding of production documentation requirements is required.
  • Knowledge of forklift operation or heavy equipment such as loaders/excavators would be considered an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills are needed for effective team-building across shifts; candidates should demonstrate empathy when developing staff potential.
