An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Engineering Manager (x1 vacancy) to join a leading manufacturer, serving the automotive industry and beyond. This role is based in Rayong and offers you the chance to play a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth operation of production processes. What you'll do:

As Production Engineering Manager based in Rayong, you will take ownership of end-to-end production activities within a highly regarded manufacturing facility. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include overseeing operational schedules, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including marketing and purchasing to align production output with market demand. You will play a key role in budgetary planning for machinery investments as well as coordinating preventive maintenance activities. Success in this position requires not only technical acumen but also a genuine commitment to supporting others’ growth within an inclusive workplace.

  • Oversee daily production operations by controlling schedules, monitoring plant productivity, and ensuring alignment with established production plans.
  • Identify, record, and address issues related to manufacturing processes while implementing actions to prevent recurrence of nonconformance.
  • Participate actively in APQP, FMEA, PPAP, and QOS teams to uphold rigorous quality standards throughout all stages of production.
  • Manage tooling and spare parts inventory as well as preventive maintenance scheduling to minimise downtime and maintain equipment reliability.
  • Develop comprehensive work instructions and ensure their effective implementation across all relevant teams.
  • Prepare monthly performance reports for management meetings, providing insights on productivity metrics and following up on QOS outcomes during reviews.
  • Supervise material handling, storage procedures, and coordinate with purchasing teams to control raw materials and external work requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and educate Assistant Managers and Supervisors while fostering a nurturing environment that encourages knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Control budgets for machinery investment, repairs, and building maintenance to ensure cost-effective operations without compromising quality or safety.
  • Utilise ERP systems for production scheduling; monitor sales status per customer; analyse market trends in collaboration with marketing; lead cross-functional meetings; manage manpower allocation; oversee machine operation rates per project guidelines; develop standards for productivity improvements such as TPS, CCCF, QCC, Kaizen, 5S; conduct capacity analysis; maintain optimal inventory levels.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related fields is required for this position.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a managerial role within a Japanese automotive factory setting is essential for success.
  • Comprehensive understanding of metal processing or heat treatment techniques is necessary for effective oversight of production operations.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English at conversational level or higher enables clear communication across diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated experience applying lean manufacturing principles such as TPS, CCCF, QCC, Kaizen or 5S methodologies is highly valued.
  • In-depth knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO9001, ISO14001 standards ensures compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing technologies supports efficient process optimisation initiatives throughout the facility.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills allow you to nurture positive relationships within your team while promoting collaboration across departments.
  • Proven ability to optimise production processes by improving efficiency measures and reducing waste aligns with organisational goals for continuous improvement.
