Hiring activity set to be relatively stable in 2018, driven mainly by market growth in sectors such as manufacturing and engineering

A more stable economy and multiple foreign investments in Thailand are set to continue growth among various industrial sectors, including manufacturing.

As a consequence, hiring managers in engineering and manufacturing industries will continue to take on professionals with quality assurance management skills and experience.

This was among the key findings of the Robert Walters Salary Survey for 2018. The annual survey contains recruitment market updates, hiring advice and benchmarks salaries across our global markets.

Hiring trends in Thailand

In 2018, we anticipate hiring activity in Thailand will be relatively stable. Demand will be high for candidates with proven expertise in people management, who are proficient in multiple languages, and who possess commercial acumen.

Additionally, the rise of e-commerce and digitalisation will boost the need for sales and marketing and accounting experts proficient in data analytics.

As more companies adapt and implement new people development initiatives, organisational and developmental HR experts with change management skills will also be sought after.
