What you'll do:
As a Senior Operation Custodian based in Bangkok, you will be entrusted with overseeing the full spectrum of custodian operations for a respected financial institution. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve monitoring asset segregation practices, managing settlement transactions for both domestic and international markets, handling corporate actions with precision, and ensuring that all trading activities are executed flawlessly. You will collaborate closely with internal teams as well as external partners such as custodian banks and regulatory bodies to reconcile accounts, resolve discrepancies swiftly, and uphold rigorous compliance standards. Your ability to review trade matching reports thoroughly will help prevent failed trades while your proactive approach will contribute significantly to process improvements across the business. By preparing timely regulatory submissions and supporting ongoing operational enhancements, you will play an integral role in safeguarding client assets while driving operational excellence.
- Monitor all custodian operations to ensure the proper segregation and safekeeping of client assets, including securities or share certificates, while maintaining strict adherence to internal controls.
- Handle settlement transactions and manage all aspects of corporate action activities specific to the Thai market, ensuring timely execution and accurate record-keeping.
- Oversee daily custodian tasks such as trading transactions, transfers, deposits, and withdrawals of securities from the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), promptly addressing any issues that arise.
- Check and verify that all securities and trade transactions are completed accurately, ensuring settlements instructions and securities positions are processed efficiently.
- Coordinate effectively with counterparties, custodian banks, Thailand Securities Depository (TSD), Thailand Clearing House (TCH), and other departments to resolve discrepancies and maintain smooth operations.
- Reconcile trading settlements, deposits, withdrawals, and other transaction products including equities, options, offshore and onshore instruments to ensure data integrity across all platforms.
- Review all trade matching reports diligently and take prompt action to resolve any failed trades or mismatches identified during reconciliation processes.
- Ensure all operational processes comply with local operating procedure manuals, prospectuses, local laws, and regulatory requirements by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations.
- Prepare and submit relevant reports to regulators within required deadlines to support transparency and compliance obligations.
- Support organisational change initiatives by assisting in the design and implementation of improved processes within the global entity operations function as well as undertaking additional tasks as assigned.
