FINANCIAL PLANNING AND ANALYSIS MANAGER Salary: Competitive and based on experience Location: Bangkok, Thailand Keywords: financial planning, commercial finance, process improvement, data analysis, collaboration, knowledge sharing, hybrid working, generous leave, comprehensive insurance

A leading diversified industrial group in Southeast Asia is seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to join their Bangkok-based team, supporting the Ingredients business unit. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to step into a pivotal role with clear succession planning, as you will be positioned to succeed the current FP&A Manager upon their retirement at the end of 2025.

The organisation offers a collaborative and supportive environment, where your expertise in financial planning, commercial finance, and process optimisation will directly influence strategic decisions. With flexible hybrid working arrangements, comprehensive medical coverage for you and your legal spouse, and a robust bonus and incentive structure, this position provides both professional growth and personal well-being. You will enjoy generous annual leave that increases with tenure, access to a provident fund, and a culture that values knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

  • Step into a key succession role with clear career progression as the future FP&A Manager for the Ingredients business unit in Bangkok.
  • Enjoy flexible hybrid working arrangements, comprehensive health benefits for you and your legal spouse, and a generous annual leave policy that rewards loyalty.
  • Be part of a regional leader with deep roots across Southeast Asia, offering stability, professional development opportunities, and a strong commitment to sustainability and employee well-being.

What you'll do:

As Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, you will play an integral role in shaping the financial direction of the Ingredients business unit from the heart of Bangkok. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with country leadership as you prepare critical financial reports, develop rolling forecasts, manage annual budgeting cycles, and provide actionable insights through advanced data analysis. You will champion cost control initiatives while driving process improvements that align with group-wide standards. In addition to supporting statutory reporting requirements and liaising with external auditors or tax consultants, you will also advise on commercial terms for major projects—ensuring every decision is underpinned by sound financial insight. Your ability to share knowledge across teams will help cultivate an environment of mutual support and ongoing professional development. Success in this role means not only delivering accurate financial information but also fostering trust through transparent communication, proactive problem-solving, and a genuine commitment to organisational goals.

  • Lead and coordinate rolling forecasts and annual budgets in alignment with group timelines, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all submissions.
  • Support country leadership by preparing detailed financial reports, dashboards, and presentations that inform strategic decision-making processes.
  • Monitor cost control measures and expense management initiatives while tracking performance against established targets to drive operational efficiency.
  • Produce insightful financial dashboards, analyses, simulations, and proactively report findings to relevant stakeholders within the business.
  • Identify potential financial issues early on and communicate these effectively to leadership teams and Group Finance for prompt resolution.
  • Drive process improvements by aligning local practices with group expectations and implementing actionable solutions that enhance overall performance.
  • Advise on commercial terms for tenders and contracts related to major projects, providing valuable input that supports successful negotiations.
  • Offer financial consulting services to management teams while promoting knowledge sharing across departments to foster a culture of continuous learning.
  • Monitor cash positions and working capital closely with business teams to ensure optimal liquidity management at all times.
  • Collaborate with auditors and tax consultants during statutory reporting cycles to guarantee compliance with regulatory requirements.

What you bring:

To excel as Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, you will bring extensive experience from multinational environments where you have supported business units through periods of change or expansion. Your academic background in finance or accounting—supplemented by recognised professional qualifications—will underpin your technical expertise. You are adept at using ERP systems such as SAP alongside advanced Excel functions to deliver precise analyses that inform strategic choices. Your fluency in English ensures seamless interaction with colleagues across Southeast Asia. Beyond technical skills, your interpersonal strengths shine through when presenting complex information clearly or guiding others through challenging scenarios. You thrive when collaborating on cross-functional projects; your positive mindset helps maintain momentum even under pressure. By nurturing open communication channels within your team—and beyond—you contribute meaningfully to shared objectives while upholding high standards of integrity.

  • At least ten years’ experience in multinational companies within financial planning or commercial finance roles (not pure accounting), demonstrating a track record of success in complex environments.
  • Background in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), trading, or supply chain industries is highly desirable for understanding sector-specific challenges.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting or a related field ensures foundational technical knowledge required for this position.
  • ACCA or CPA qualification is mandatory to meet professional standards expected by the organisation.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English enables effective communication across regional teams.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP (including SAP BW/BPC) or other enterprise resource planning systems is essential for managing data-driven processes efficiently.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) allows you to create compelling reports and presentations.
  • Power BI skills are considered an advantage for producing sophisticated data visualisations that support decision-making.
  • Excellent data analysis abilities combined with strong problem-solving skills enable you to identify trends quickly and recommend practical solutions.
  • Proven people management experience demonstrates your capacity to nurture talent within small teams while fostering collaboration.
