Head of Tech
Our client is seeking a visionary Head of Technology to architect and build engineering division . As Founding Architect, you will design and execute the blueprint for the entire technology ecosystem translating business ambition into a scalable, secure, and future-proof platform.
The Mission
You will transform abstract business vision into a concrete, phased technical roadmap with clear milestones, realistic timelines, measurable risks, and accurate cost projections.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Translate business objectives into a structured roadmap from MVP to scale.
- Define phased milestones with clear scope, timeline, risk assessment, and budget alignment.
- Align product strategy, engineering execution, and financial planning.
- Own foundational decisions across: Cloud provider selection,Backend architecture & stack, Database strategy, DevOps tooling, Security frameworks
- Balance short-term velocity with long-term scalability and maintainability.
- Clearly articulate architectural trade-offs (monolith vs. microservices, buy vs. build, etc.).
- Build the initial engineering budget (CAPEX & OPEX) from first principles.
- Forecast infrastructure, tooling, licensing, and headcount needs with precision.
- Embed FinOps discipline into cloud strategy from scratch
Engineering Excellence & Architecture
- Design a secure, scalable, cloud-native architecture compliant with PDPA by design.
- Ensure the platform is modular, observable, resilient, and future-ready.
- Proactively prevent technical debt.
- Establish engineering standards from scratch: CI/CD pipelines,Code review standards,TDD & automated testing,Shift-left quality strategy,Secure SDLC practices
- Define SLAs, monitoring, logging, and incident response frameworks.
People & Culture
- Build a compelling engineering brand to attract Thailand’s top-tier technical talent.
- Design structured hiring and interview frameworks.
- Create a culture of experimentation, learning, and ownership.
- Foster accountability, constructive feedback, and engineering excellence.
- Develop future technical leaders within the organization.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Over 8 years of professional software engineering experience and technical leadership (Head of Engineering, Engineering Manager, CTO, etc.).
- Proven experience building scalable platforms in greenfield environments.
- Demonstrated ability to create technical roadmaps and accurate CAPEX/OPEX forecasts with limited data.
- Strong experience designing cloud-native systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Deep backend expertise with architectural review capability.
- Experience implementing FinOps and cloud cost optimization strategies.
- Track record of recruiting and mentoring high-performing engineering teams in Thailand.
- Experience establishing CI/CD, Agile/Scrum, TDD, and engineering best practices from scratch.
- Native or fluent Thai; business-level English proficiency.
