IT Director (AI and Automation)
Our client is hiring a Director of IT, AI & Automation—not a traditional IT role—to transform the organization into an AI-powered, automation-first company by eliminating manual, human-dependent workflows and embedding AI-driven, automated, and self-healing systems into the core operational fabric of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify manual, repetitive, and error-prone processes and systematically replace them with automated, API-driven, and AI-assisted systems.
- Audit all existing software and infrastructure to uncover hidden manual dependencies and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Design, build, or oversee robust API integrations that connect internal platforms with third-party SaaS systems.
- Implement AI-powered tools to automate reporting, analytics, and insight generation.
- Design and deliver real-time, self-updating dashboards that provide actionable insights to teams and executive leadership.
- Enable business users to access data and insights independently through automated or AI-driven interfaces, eliminating manual reporting requests.
- Centralize and govern data flows across department operations, revenue, asset management, and finance systems.
- Fully automate recurring investor and executive reporting with outputs that are consistent, accurate, auditable, and always up to date.
- Reduce reporting cycles from days to minutes by removing manual data preparation.
- Significantly reduce the organization’s reliance on spreadsheets as a core workflow or integration layer.
- Eliminate copy-and-paste workflows by replacing them with structured, scalable automation pipelines.
- Translate complex business problems into sustainable, scalable technical and AI-driven solutions.
- Operate as a strategic technology and automation partner to the business, not a ticket-based service desk.
- Own foundational IT responsibilities devices, networks, security, access control, backups, uptime, and vendor management as a platform for automation and scale.
- Work closely with revenue, asset management, finance, human resources and executive leadership to identify and automate high-impact workflows.
Required Experience
- Strong programming background in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages used for automation and integration.
- Hands-on experience designing and building APIs, system integrations, and automation frameworks.
- Proven experience automating business processes end-to-end, from data ingestion to reporting and decision support.
- Strong understanding of data flows, analytics pipelines, and reporting architectures.
- Comfortable auditing messy, real-world systems and turning them into clean, automated workflows.
- Experience implementing AI tools for reporting, analytics, forecasting, or operational efficiency.
- Experience working with SaaS platforms across finance, operations, asset management, ERP, or CRM environments.
- Familiarity with BI and dashboard tools such as Power BI, Looker, Metabase, or similar platforms.
- Experience working within cloud infrastructure environments that support scalable automation and AI workloads.
Due to the high volume of applications, our team will only be in touch if your application is shortlisted.
