Backend lead (Python)

We are hiring a Backend Lead (Python) for a global AI technology company setting up a new IT hub in Thailand. The role leads backend development for AI-driven platforms, builds scalable microservices, and works closely with AI, data, and cloud teams on high-impact projects.

We are looking for a Backend Lead to take ownership of backend systems supporting large-scale, AI-enabled platforms. This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership in a fast-growing engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of backend services using Python

• Own backend architecture with focus on scalability, performance, and security

• Guide and mentor backend engineers, setting coding and design standards

• Build and maintain APIs and data services used by AI and analytics components

• Collaborate with data, AI, frontend, and cloud teams to deliver end-to-end solutions

• Review system designs, code quality, and deployment readiness

• Support production systems and drive continuous improvement

Requirements

• Strong experience in backend development with Python

• Background in designing distributed systems or microservices

• Experience working with databases and data-intensive applications

• Familiar with cloud environments and modern deployment practices

• Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving project environments

• Good communication skills and ability to lead technical discussions

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI, data platforms, or automation systems

• Exposure to containerized or cloud-native architectures
