Our client is seeking a dedicated and passionate Data Analyst to join their health research team. This role offers the opportunity to utilise your analytical skills to make a significant impact on public health initiatives. You will be working with an interdisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, and data scientists, using SAS products for comprehensive data analysis.

What you'll do:

As a Data Analyst in Health Research, you will play a pivotal role in supporting various health research initiatives. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve conducting comprehensive data analysis using SAS products. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of professionals to define data requirements and set research objectives. Your role will also involve developing databases for efficient management of health-related datasets. You will cleanse raw data ensuring its accuracy and consistency for further analysis. Using your skills in statistical modelling and data visualisation, you will identify trends in health data. Your findings will be communicated through reports and presentations that you create for stakeholders.

  • Conduct comprehensive data analysis to support various health research initiatives
  • Utilise SAS products such as SAS Base, SAS STAT, and SAS Macro language for data extraction, transformation, and statistical analysis
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to define data requirements and research objectives
  • Develop and maintain databases to organise and manage health-related datasets efficiently
  • Cleanse and preprocess raw data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency for analysis
  • Perform statistical modelling, hypothesis testing, and data visualisation to identify trends, patterns, and correlations in health data
  • Generate reports, dashboards, and presentations summarising research findings for internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Stay updated with emerging trends and best practices in health research methodologies, data analytics, and statistical techniques

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Data Analyst in Health Research role will bring a strong academic background, preferably a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field. You will have proven experience in health research, ideally within a healthcare or academic setting. Your proficiency in SAS programming will be crucial for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and reporting. Familiarity with SQL for querying relational databases would be advantageous. Your strong analytical skills will enable you to interpret complex datasets effectively. Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI or R Shiny would be beneficial. Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills are essential for this role.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Epidemiology, Public Health or a related field
  • Proven experience in health research or a related field preferably in a healthcare or academic setting
  • Proficiency in SAS programming for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and reporting
  • Familiarity with SQL for querying relational databases is advantageous
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets effectively
