  • Benefit from generous pension contributions and a culture that values dependability, collaboration, and the sharing of ideas across all levels of the organisation.

What you'll do:

As a Category Manager – Packaged Food, Seafood and Beverage based in Bangkok, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the organisation’s private label offerings. Your day-to-day responsibilities will centre around developing robust product assortment strategies that reflect current market trends while meeting customer needs. You will work closely with both domestic and international suppliers to source high-quality products at competitive prices. By negotiating favourable terms and building dependable relationships with partners, you will help drive business success while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Collaboration is key in this role; you’ll regularly engage with colleagues across marketing, logistics, regulatory affairs, and quality assurance functions to deliver seamless product launches. Your ability to maintain detailed records and participate actively in team discussions will further enhance the effectiveness of category management operations.

  • Develop and implement effective product assortment strategies for packaged food, seafood, and beverage categories by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Source buyers both domestically and internationally for private label products, ensuring high-quality standards are consistently met.
  • Negotiate pricing agreements with suppliers to secure competitive deals while maintaining strong relationships built on trust and mutual understanding.
  • Monitor market trends and consumer preferences to inform category management decisions that align with organisational goals.
  • Coordinate with regulatory affairs specialists to ensure all sourced products comply with relevant local and international regulations.

  • Support the continuous improvement of sourcing processes by providing feedback on best practices and identifying areas for efficiency gains.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Category Manager – Packaged Food, Seafood and Beverage role will bring substantial experience from either retail or FMCG sectors where teamwork played a central part in delivering results. Your background should include hands-on involvement in managing product assortments or sourcing activities within these categories. You will possess excellent communication skills that allow you to connect easily with both internal stakeholders and external partners. A proven track record of successful negotiations—achieved through empathy rather than assertiveness—will set you apart. Familiarity with regulatory affairs concerning food safety is advantageous but not essential; what matters most is your openness to learning new concepts as required. Your attention to detail ensures that all documentation remains up-to-date while your collaborative nature helps foster an inclusive atmosphere among colleagues. Above all else, your enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and supporting others will make you an invaluable member of the team.

  • Proven experience working within retail or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environments where collaboration was essential for achieving shared objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage product assortment strategies for packaged food, seafood or beverage categories by leveraging market insights.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that enable you to build trustworthy relationships with suppliers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent negotiation abilities supported by a considerate approach that fosters long-term partnerships rather than short-term gains.
  • Knowledge of regulatory affairs related to food safety standards is highly desirable but not mandatory; willingness to learn is equally valued.
  • Exceptional organisational skills allowing you to maintain accurate records of contracts, negotiations, supplier performance metrics, and other critical documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively within communal teams by sharing information openly and supporting colleagues whenever needed.
  • Sensitivity towards cultural differences when dealing with international suppliers or cross-functional teams.
