What you'll do:
As Buyer Director – Wine, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s wine offering by curating an exceptional portfolio sourced from around the globe. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms, analysing market data for informed decision-making, and overseeing financial performance.
- Develop and implement retail strategies that drive sales growth and enhance store operations across multiple locations.
- Source wines from international markets, carefully selecting products to build a profitable and appealing portfolio for customers.
- Negotiate terms with suppliers, fostering dependable relationships that support long-term business goals and mutual success.
- Oversee profit and loss statements, manage budgets effectively, monitor inventory levels, and ensure visual merchandising standards are consistently met.
- Analyse market trends and interpret sales data to inform purchasing decisions and identify new opportunities for expansion.
- Train teams on wine knowledge, nurturing their skills to deliver excellent customer service and foster a culture of continuous learning.
- Motivate staff through supportive leadership practices, encouraging collaboration and shared achievement within the department.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align product offerings with broader organisational objectives.
