General Manager for an Entertainment Venue

Our client is on the hunt for an experienced General Manager to take the helm at a prestigious Entertainment Venue nestled in the heart of bustling Bangkok. This role presents a thrilling chance to oversee the venue's safe operation, manage its financial performance, and uphold statutory and partnership obligations. The successful candidate will be tasked with nurturing and establishing fruitful relationships with key commercial partners and Event Owners, all while delivering operational KPI’s agreed upon with the Arena Management Board.

What you'll do:

As the General Manager, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of this Entertainment Venue. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure seamless operations, from crafting annual business plans to managing relationships with key stakeholders. You will work hand-in-hand with various teams to ensure efficient event calendar management while cultivating commercial partnerships. Your leadership skills will be vital in recruiting and sustaining a competent venue management team that ensures safety and efficiency. Moreover, your meticulous attention to detail will be crucial in ensuring timely delivery of all lease asset management, reporting, community partnership, and financial obligations.

  • Craft and execute the annual business plan approved by the Board, reporting progress monthly.
  • Collaborate with the venue booking team to ensure efficient event calendar management.
  • In partnership with the Venue Development team, develop, secure and maintain commercial partnerships.
  • Recruit and sustain a competent venue management team to deliver safe and efficient operation of the arena.
  • Manage relationship with management team to enhance content delivery.
  • Ensure all lease asset management, reporting, community partnership and financial obligations are delivered in a timely manner.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this General Manager role brings extensive local venue management experience or similar, ideally with a minimum of 5 years in a senior position. You have proven experience in booking diary management, exceptional customer service skills, as well as marketing and promoting events. Your familiarity with both local and international event markets will be crucial in this role. Proficiency in both Thai and English is required for effective communication within diverse teams. Your ability to manage complex situations tactfully and diplomatically, proactively identify problems, and develop effective solutions will set you apart.

  • Extensive local venue management experience or similar with a minimum of 5 years at senior position.
  • Booking diary management experience.
  • Exceptional customer service and management skills.
  • Experience in marketing and promoting events.
  • Commercial partnership experience.
  • Familiarity with both local and International event market.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills – Both Thai and English.
  • Ability to manage situations tactfully and diplomatically, proactively identify problems and develop effective solutions.
