Head of Business Development (Logistics)
Head of Business Development Location: Bangkok Salary: Competitive and based on experience
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Business Development to join a leading global logistics organisation based at its head office in Bangkok. This senior role will be responsible for driving sustainable business growth through new customer acquisition, expansion of existing accounts, and the development of scalable commercial strategies across the Thailand market.
You will lead a field sales function, work closely with product and network teams, and play a key role in expanding solution-based offerings within the freight forwarding sector.
Key responsibilities

Develop and execute account and business development strategies, including revenue targets and service objectives

Lead and motivate field sales teams to drive new business acquisition and grow existing customer portfolios

Provide direct ownership or senior-level sales support to strategic and high-value accounts

Collaborate with network sales teams to secure large-scale and cross-border business opportunities

Drive SME market growth across ocean freight, air freight, cross-border logistics, and value-added services, with a strong focus on profitability

Expand solution-based sales for specialised products including Ocean Reefer, Dangerous Goods, Thermonet, and Bulk

Work with product teams to deliver strategic tradelane initiatives, increasing both local and network trade volumes

Support process improvement initiatives that enhance sales effectiveness and long-term sustainability

Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new growth opportunities

Coach and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
About you
-
Bachelor’s degree or MBA in Marketing, Business Management, Logistics, or a related discipline

8–10 years’ experience in sales and business development within the freight forwarding or logistics industry

Proven track record of driving revenue growth and new business development
-
Strong leadership and people management capabilities

Solid understanding of the Thailand logistics market, particularly the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), industrial estates, and free zones
-
Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build long-term stakeholder relationships
-
In-depth knowledge of logistics operations across air, sea, cross-border transportation, and value-added services
-
Experience developing and executing structured commercial strategies
-
Proficiency in CRM systems and sales-related tools
