Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Country Manager to lead their business development efforts in Thailand. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to the renewable energy industry, with a focus on origination, evaluation, negotiation, due diligence and investment approvals of greenfield project opportunities and partnership/acquisition opportunities. The successful candidate will work closely with various heads of departments, manage and mentor the local team across functions, and establish collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.

What you'll do:
As a Country Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our client's growth in Thailand. Your primary responsibility will be to lead business development efforts, creating a robust development pipeline and ensuring that the company is well-known across SE Asian markets. You will also be tasked with leading financial model preparation and developing a deep understanding of key drivers and portfolio requirements. Additionally, you will support various development workstreams and engage with regulators and industry participants to gain valuable market intelligence.
- Support the creation of a 1 GW development pipeline in Thailand
- Ensure the company is well known to all market participants across SE Asian markets
- Lead financial model preparation, incorporating risk analysis based on the PPA framework
- Develop a deep understanding of the key drivers and portfolio requirements of Direct PPA participants
- Lead/support on various development workstreams including permitting, land, right of way, technical and environmental studies required for EPC RfP and financial close processes
- Work with Head of Strategy and M&A to source, evaluate and negotiate operating asset M&A opportunities
- Engage with regulators, offtakes, industry participants, competitors to gain market intelligence
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Country Manager position brings extensive experience in business development within power/infrastructure/construction industries. With at least 3 years' experience specifically within renewable energy in Thailand, you have demonstrated success in business development, licensing and permitting. Your ability to manage a diverse team coupled with your proficiency in financial analysis and modelling sets you apart. A bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution is required for this role. Fluency in both English and Thai is essential.
- 10+ years of experience in business development in power / infrastructure / construction industries
- 3+ years in renewable energy in Thailand
- Demonstrated track record of success in business development, licensing and permitting
- Ability to manage a diverse team
- Proficiency in financial analysis and modelling
- Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing market environment
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering / economics / business / marketing from a recognized institution
- Fluency in English and Thai language
