Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Director to lead their team in Bangkok. This role offers an exciting opportunity to spearhead new business development, manage key accounts, and develop sales strategies as part of a global initiative. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing revenue and profit & loss at the country level, leading a team in new business development, and ensuring continuity of sales pipelines. What you'll do:

As a Business Development Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company's growth strategy. You will be responsible for identifying growth opportunities, delivering on sales targets, and developing strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders. Your role will also involve partnering with the Marketing team to develop an annual media plan that promotes the brand and drives sales leads. Additionally, you will prepare and analyse sales reports to develop realistic sales pipelines and strategies. Your ability to work closely with internal teams will be crucial in driving account retention and upselling opportunities.

  • Identify growth opportunities with existing and new client groups
  • Deliver agreed quarterly / annual sales targets through new business development
  • Partner with the Marketing team to develop an annual media plan
  • Prepare and analyze weekly / monthly / quarterly / annual sales reports to develop realistic sales pipeline
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders in the industry
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure maximum effect on accounts to drive retention and potential upselling opportunities

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Business Development Director role brings a wealth of experience in the media industry, particularly in sales or marketing roles within the TV broadcasting sector. You should have a proven track record of developing strategic sales plans and executing them successfully at a country level. Your leadership skills will be essential in guiding your team towards achieving business goals. Experience in consultative selling processes is also crucial for this role. This includes pre-call discovery, drafting proposals, presenting solutions, and closing deals.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in Business, Marketing, or Communications
  • Minimum of 10 years of media experience, preferably in sales or marketing roles from the media or TV broadcasting industry
  • Strong network within the media, broadcasting and publishing industry
  • Experience in developing strategic sales plans, and executing them successfully at country level
  • Leadership credentials by leading a team to drive desired business results
  • Experience in consultative selling process including pre-call discovery, drafting proposals, presenting solutions & closing deals
