Regional External Manufacturing Manager – Chemicals

A global chemical industry leader is looking for a Regional External Manufacturing Manager to lead and optimise contract manufacturing operations across APAC region. This is a high-impact role where you will shape regional supply chain strategies, strengthen partnerships with external manufacturers, and drive operational excellence. You’ll play a key role in advancing localisation initiatives, improving sourcing efficiency, and embedding sustainability across the manufacturing network. What you'll do:

  • Lead contract manufacturing strategy and execution across multiple countries, with a focus on cost optimisation and long-term value creation
  • Build and maintain strong, dependable partnerships with contract manufacturers and suppliers
  • Identify, assess, and onboard new manufacturing partners to support business growth
  • Manage end-to-end contract manufacturing activities including contract setup, production ramp-up, NPI, and performance tracking
  • Conduct regular cost analysis, margin reviews, and performance evaluations to drive continuous improvement
  • Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews with external partners
  • Ensure compliance with quality, service, and regulatory standards while improving efficiency
  • Drive sustainability and ethical sourcing initiatives across all manufacturing partners
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Sourcing, R&D, Marketing, Finance, and regional leadership
  • Support supplier selection, capability assessments, and audit processes alongside procurement and QHSE teams
  • Consolidate operational data and provide insights to senior leadership for strategic decision-making

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field is required for this position
  • At least 10 years of experience in contract manufacturing in chemical or related industry
  • Proven expertise in supplier management, contract negotiation, and cost analysis
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and experience working with diverse stakeholders
  • A solid track record in driving process improvement and operational efficiency
  • Experience with sustainability frameworks and ethical sourcing practices
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • The ability to navigate ambiguity with a practical, solution-oriented mindset
  • Experience leading complex, multi-country projects
  • Fluency in English and Thai (written and spoken)
