What you'll do:
As a Quality Assurance and Regulatory Professional based in Bangkok, you will be entrusted with safeguarding the integrity of products throughout their lifecycle—from initial concept through commercialisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve developing effective quality management systems that underpin every aspect of production for cosmetics and dietary supplements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to review materials, oversee audits, investigate deviations or complaints with empathy and diligence, manage CAPA processes efficiently, handle all facets of regulatory submissions with precision, monitor legislative updates affecting the industry landscape in Thailand and Southeast Asia, qualify suppliers rigorously to ensure only dependable partners are engaged in manufacturing processes, maintain meticulous documentation practices that support transparency during inspections or audits by authorities such as the Thai FDA or certification bodies. Your ability to communicate clearly across departments will be essential in providing guidance on complex regulatory matters while fostering a culture of shared responsibility for quality outcomes.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust Quality Management Systems (QMS) tailored for cosmetics and dietary supplements to ensure ongoing compliance with local and international standards.
- Ensure all processes meet Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements for cosmetics and dietary supplements as stipulated by Thai FDA regulations and relevant ISO standards.
- Review and approve raw materials, packaging components, artwork, finished goods, and vendor documentation to guarantee accuracy and regulatory conformity.
- Conduct thorough internal audits as well as supplier audits while supporting third-party audit activities to uphold stringent quality standards throughout the supply chain.
- Investigate quality deviations, address customer complaints promptly, and manage Corrective And Preventive Action (CAPA) processes to drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee all aspects of regulatory compliance including product notifications, registrations, licenses, renewals, and submissions for both cosmetics and dietary supplements within Thailand.
- Review product formulations, labelling, claims, and marketing materials meticulously to ensure they align with Thai FDA guidelines, ASEAN Cosmetic Directive requirements, and other applicable regulations.
- Monitor evolving regulatory landscapes within Thailand and the broader Southeast Asian region to proactively interpret changes impacting business operations.
- Qualify contract manufacturers and suppliers across Thailand and SEA regions while ensuring manufacturing processes consistently meet required quality benchmarks.
- Maintain comprehensive SOPs, specifications, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), batch records, and regulatory documentation; prepare detailed reports for internal stakeholders as well as regulatory authorities.
What you bring:
Your background includes significant hands-on experience navigating the intricacies of quality assurance protocols alongside deep familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing cosmetics or dietary supplements. You possess advanced academic credentials—ideally at postgraduate level—in pharmacy chemistry microbiology biotechnology or similar fields which equip you with technical insight needed for this multifaceted role. Your track record demonstrates reliability when managing audits resolving issues raised during inspections maintaining accurate records interpreting new legislation guiding colleagues through compliance challenges collaborating seamlessly across departments engaging respectfully with external partners such as contract manufacturers suppliers auditors regulators alike. You are known for your empathetic approach when addressing concerns raised by customers or team members alike always striving towards solutions that balance business needs against consumer safety priorities. Your exposure launching products locally gives you unique insights into market-specific nuances while any additional knowledge about international standards further enhances your suitability.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology or related scientific discipline is required for this role.
- 5–8 years of proven experience in Quality Assurance or Regulatory roles specifically within the cosmetics or dietary supplement sectors is essential.
- Comprehensive understanding of Thai FDA regulations including MOPH notifications as well as ASEAN Cosmetic Directive requirements is necessary for success.
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing audits—both internal and external—and handling CAPA processes effectively is expected.
- Exceptional accuracy in documentation coupled with strong analytical skills enables you to maintain high standards of record-keeping.
- Ability to interpret complex regulations thoughtfully then translate them into practical business actions that support operational goals is vital.
- Excellent communication skills allow you to engage constructively with stakeholders across multiple functions including R&D, Procurement, Manufacturing Operations Marketing Legal etc.
- Experience working with third-party manufacturers or suppliers adds valuable perspective on supply chain oversight responsibilities.
- Familiarity with international regulatory frameworks such as US FDA or EU Cosmetic Regulation would be advantageous but not mandatory.
- Exposure launching products within the Thailand market especially across both cosmetics & dietary supplement categories is highly regarded.
