A leading global electronics manufacturer is seeking a Material Planner Manager (X1 vacancy) to join their purchasing, procurement, and inventory function in Bangkok. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to shape and execute category and commodity strategies that drive cost optimisation, ensure supply continuity, and foster sustainable supplier relationships.

What you'll do:

As Material Planner Manager – Electronics Supply Management based in Bangkok, you will be entrusted with shaping the future of procurement by developing robust category strategies that align with business objectives. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve analysing market data to inform negotiation tactics, collaborating with diverse teams to deliver measurable cost savings, and building strong relationships with suppliers to secure reliable supply chains.

  • Analyse spend patterns, cost structures, and market intelligence to develop benchmarking data that supports effective negotiations with suppliers.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive category and commodity strategies aligned with evolving business requirements to optimise total cost of ownership.
  • Lead complex negotiations with suppliers to achieve cost reductions while maintaining high standards of quality, delivery reliability, and supply continuity.
  • Drive material cost reduction initiatives through price negotiations, value engineering projects, and alternative sourcing solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders—including Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Finance—to implement and sustain impactful cost-saving strategies.
  • Act as the primary interface for supplier relationship management, performance improvement initiatives, and business governance activities.
  • Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and supplier risk profiles to inform long-term supplier engagement strategies that support organisational goals.
  • Source, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to meet changing production needs while ensuring readiness for high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Manage supplier performance across quality, delivery timelines, cost efficiency, and service levels in accordance with company standards.
  • Supervise, coach, and guide purchasing team members on technical matters while ensuring compliance with internal policies and ethical sourcing standards.

  • Experience managing purchasing-related contracts—including NDAs, Purchasing Agreements, Rebates, and Supplier-Managed Inventory—demonstrates your attention to detail and compliance awareness.
