Purchasing & VAVE Specialist

An exciting Purchasing & VAVE Specialist role (x 1 vacancy) has just become available at one of leading automotive parts supplier based in Rayong, Thailand. This is a role for a seasoned buyer or purchasing specialist who has solid background in automotive industry with expertise in VAVE, cost reduction and technical knowledge of machining, casting, forging processes, and thrives on challenging opportunity working for a trusted supplier of quality product.

About the Purchasing & VAVE Specialist Role:

In this business-critical role, you will be responsible for supporting all purchasing activities and developing relationship with suppliers. Reporting directly to Regional Purchasing Manager (foreigner), you will effectively plan commodity strategy, develop sourcing activities, and manage cost savings target. You will enjoy competitive base salary and attractive bonus for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct VAVE workshop and engineering changes activities with cross functional team, suppliers, and all stakeholders
• Drive all stakeholders to participate in VAVE implementation
• Develop relationship with local suppliers to improve quality and product engineering
• Responsible for daily operations of purchasing, material cost reduction, supplier development & evaluation to ensure cost, quality and delivery performance of suppliers
• Support all changes implementation within programme timing and initiate VAVE requirement while collaborate with cross functions for assignments related to procurement activities
• Support purchasing team for technical information, products’ design, and engineering specification for machining, forging, and casting processes
• Ensure annual cost savings and VAVE target, delivery, and quality objectives

To succeed in this role, you must have the ability to work cooperatively with other functions and global counterparts with a keen understanding in commercial acumen, automotive manufacturing systems & standards, and technical details of product design, machining, casting and forging processes.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical, or related filed)
• At least six years’ experience working in purchasing and VAVE functions
• Background working in automotive industry, with experience in VAVE, engineering changes and purchasing
• Great interpersonal, analytical, and negotiation skills
• Excellent English in written and spoken, due to the nature of business
