Robert Walters Thailand officially launched the 2019 Salary Survey - Greater China and South East Asia on November 22, 2018. We were joined by a number of top media outlets including Krungthep Turakij, Prachachart Turakij, Than Settakij and Positioning at our official launch event.
Insights regarding hiring trends in 2018 and forecasts for the job market in 2019 were shared at the event by our management team consisting Gerrit Bouckaert, Managing Director – Thailand & Vietnam, Punyanuch Sirisawadwattana, Director – Commerce HR, Banking & IT and Natiya Saul, Director – Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain & Engineering.
During the session, Gerrit shared that there will be a rise in demand for digitally skilled talent and local talent with international experience. Digital transformation will continue to be a key focus in 2019, driving the need for digital talent across all industries. There will be also more Thai companies looking to expand regionally and internationally in 2019 and they will be seeking English-speaking professionals who are adaptable.
Gerrit also noted that professionals with strong problem-solving and project-management skills, particularly those in mid-level to senior positions, will continue to be in short supply along Thailand’s eastern seaboard.
