What you'll do:

• Lead and oversee a wide range of corporate, commercial, and complex mergers and acquisitions assignments including legal due diligence, transaction implementation, restructuring activities, and post-completion work.
• Provide comprehensive legal advice to clients on matters such as corporate governance frameworks, foreign investment regulations, commercial contract negotiations, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Review, structure, draft, and negotiate sophisticated legal documents that support clients’ strategic objectives while ensuring all risks are appropriately managed.
• Manage full deal processes from start to finish by coordinating across internal teams, clients, counterparties, and external advisors to guarantee smooth execution within tight deadlines.
• Mentor junior and senior lawyers by providing active coaching, sharing knowledge generously, supervising deliverables closely, and fostering a nurturing environment for professional growth.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients by maintaining strong relationships, handling sensitive communications with care, and delivering practical business-oriented solutions.
• Participate actively in business development initiatives such as attending networking events, supporting pitch presentations for new mandates, and identifying opportunities to expand existing client relationships.
• Support firmwide projects aimed at improving workflows by adopting new tools—including artificial intelligence—and enhancing the overall quality of legal services delivered.
• Manage team resources effectively by overseeing project timelines and monitoring financial performance of engagements to ensure optimal outcomes for both clients and the firm.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or higher qualification from a recognised institution is required for this position.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience practising law within corporate or commercial settings; candidates with over 8 years may be considered for more senior responsibilities depending on qualifications.
• Demonstrated expertise in drafting, reviewing, structuring, and negotiating complex commercial agreements as well as transactional documentation.
• Proven track record managing entire transaction lifecycles—including due diligence processes—and leading cross-functional teams towards successful outcomes.
• Exceptional communication skills enabling you to engage confidently with senior executives while handling sensitive client matters discreetly.
• Experience mentoring team members at various levels by providing constructive feedback that elevates overall team performance.
• Strong business acumen allowing you to integrate tailored legal solutions into broader commercial strategies that align with client goals.
• Comfortable participating in business development activities such as representing the firm at industry events or supporting pitches for new work streams.
• Proficiency using MS Office applications alongside familiarity with AI tools designed for legal research tasks or document automation purposes.
• Highly service-minded approach combined with meticulous attention to detail; able to work independently under pressure while meeting demanding deadlines.
• Excellent command of English (both written and spoken); additional language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
