Senior Legal Officer – Energy Sector - Rayong Salary: Competitive and based on experience (hosing allowance, position allowance, telephone allowance) Location: Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate, Rayong An established energy provider in Rayong is seeking a Senior Legal Officer to join their dedicated legal team at Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in supporting the company’s long-standing contract with EGAT, while contributing to future growth and contract extension efforts. You will be part of a close-knit team, reporting directly to the Senior Legal Manager, and your expertise in M&A, agreement review, and litigation coordination will be highly valued. What you'll do:

  • Review complex agreements including Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), procurement contracts, and joint venture documents to ensure compliance and protect organisational interests.
  • Provide expert guidance on mergers and acquisitions activities, supporting due diligence processes and facilitating smooth transaction execution.
  • Understand and manage litigation processes by coordinating closely with external legal partners to achieve favourable outcomes for the company.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments to address legal queries, share knowledge, and foster a culture of compliance.
  • Support contract extension efforts by preparing documentation, analysing regulatory requirements, and advising on negotiation strategies.
  • Report directly to the Senior Legal Manager, providing regular updates on legal matters and contributing insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures that enhance risk management practices within the organisation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting the energy sector.
  • Contribute to team meetings by sharing best practices, discussing case studies, and promoting continuous improvement within the legal function.

What you bring:

  • Holding an LL.B degree demonstrates your strong foundational knowledge of the law, essential for performing effectively in this role.
  • Bringing at least 5 years of experience in legal roles ensures you are familiar with industry standards, regulatory expectations, and best practices.
  • Being a holder of a lawyer’s license further reinforces your professional qualifications and readiness to handle complex legal matters.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing complex commercial agreements such as PPA, procurement contracts, or joint venture documents within an industrial or energy context
  • Proven track record supporting M&A transactions including due diligence, negotiation support, and post-deal integration.
  • Comprehensive understanding of litigation processes with experience coordinating outsourced legal services or managing external counsel relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills enabling you to explain legal concepts clearly to non-legal colleagues while building trust across departments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small team environment where mutual support is essential for success.
  • Strong analytical abilities allowing you to assess risks accurately and propose practical solutions tailored to business needs.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Thai laws relevant to energy production, industrial operations, contracts, and dispute resolution.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development through training opportunities or self-directed learning initiatives.
  • High level of dependability demonstrated by consistent follow-through on tasks and willingness to support colleagues when needed.
