Legal Counsel (BOI & Regulatory) Salary: Competitive and based on experience Location: Bangkok An international AI and technology company is seeking a Legal Counsel specialising in Board of Investment (BOI) and regulatory matters to support the establishment and ongoing operation of a BOI-promoted project in Thailand. This role offers you the chance to be at the heart of a pioneering technology initiative, working closely with government authorities, ensuring seamless compliance, and providing essential commercial legal guidance.

What you'll do:

• Handle all post-approval matters relating to Board of Investment (BOI) compliance by monitoring promotion certificate conditions and preparing required documentation.
• Coordinate with BOI officers regarding project implementation, privileges utilisation, and manage amendment or expansion applications for the BOI project.
• Oversee tax privilege applications, import duty exemptions, machinery import procedures, and support visa and work permit processes for foreign experts under BOI privileges.
• Liaise with relevant authorities such as Customs, Revenue Department, and Department of Employment to ensure smooth regulatory execution.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including vendor contracts, service agreements, technology deals, and implementation arrangements.
• Support project launch activities by identifying regulatory risks related to technology, data protection, and operational compliance.
• Provide practical legal advice to business teams and management on day-to-day operations as well as strategic decisions.
• Coordinate with external counsel when necessary to ensure comprehensive legal coverage for the business.
• Maintain corporate compliance standards by ensuring all licences required for operations are up-to-date and valid.
• Act as the legal liaison between the Thailand entity and regional or global headquarters to translate regulatory requirements into actionable operational guidance.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law.
• More than 4 years’ experience in legal, regulatory or compliance roles ideally within technology, infrastructure, manufacturing or international company environments.
• Proven track record handling Board of Investment (BOI) matters especially post-approval compliance including reporting obligations and privilege utilisation.
• Demonstrated experience liaising effectively with government authorities such as Customs, Revenue Department or Department of Employment in Thailand.
• Exceptional drafting skills enabling you to prepare clear commercial agreements while negotiating terms that protect organisational interests.
• Fluent Thai language skills combined with good English communication abilities allowing you to interact confidently across local and international teams.
• Hands-on approach with an execution-oriented mindset that enables you to manage regulatory processes independently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong coordination capabilities coupled with stakeholder management skills that foster collaborative relationships across departments and geographies.
• Commercially pragmatic legal perspective that balances risk mitigation with business objectives in fast-moving project environments.
• Comfortable working within dynamic settings where adaptability is essential for meeting tight deadlines during business launch phases.
