Regional Legal & Compliance Manager (Bangkok On-site)

A leading international organisation is seeking a Regional Legal and Compliance Manager to oversee legal and compliance matters across its multi-country operations

What you'll do:

* Establish comprehensive checklists for all basic and structural corporate compliance matters across the group, reviewing and updating them twice annually while maintaining an organised database filing system.

* Delegate tasks effectively to local legal officers or third-party lawyers in various jurisdictions, ensuring clear communication and control over compliance activities.

* Monitor corporate compliance status for every entity within the group at all times, reporting any risks such as renewal schedules or pending issues promptly to senior management.

* Review, develop, update regularly, and consistently enforce group-wide legal policies and standards in line with board directives.

* Design, implement, and continuously improve the company’s compliance framework to ensure it meets both local and international legal requirements.

* Plan internal controls to guarantee adherence to group legal policy while suggesting suitable tools to promote efficiency in document management.

* Develop internal dashboards for tracking compliance metrics and manage all insurance policies across the group by liaising with brokers for optimal premium coverage.

* Create and maintain registers for insurance policies at both group and local levels while supporting corporate governance initiatives through framework development.

* Provide legal due diligence support for mergers & acquisitions transactions including contract review for board-level decisions.

* Draft standard commercial contract templates for the group; review contracts; provide negotiation support; coordinate claims or litigation processes with directors and external counsel as needed.

What you bring:

* Mandatory: Master’s degree (LL.M) in Law from an accredited institution is required for this position.

* Mandatory: At least five years’ experience in a legal role with proven international corporate and commercial law expertise is essential.

* Mandatory: Demonstrated ability to lead or supervise a legal team within a multicultural environment is necessary.

* Mandatory: Excellent command of English language skills—both written drafting and verbal communication—are critical for success.

* Mandatory: Proficiency in PC applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook is required; familiarity with document management software or legal tools is highly desirable.

* Mandatory: Experience handling company secretarial requirements across multiple countries (over 16 entities) is expected.

* Nice to have: Prior experience working within construction or manufacturing industries would be advantageous but not essential.

* Nice to have: Knowledge of laws/regulations relevant to construction/manufacturing sectors adds value but is not mandatory.

* Nice to have: Previous background in a reputable law firm enhances suitability for this role.

* Nice to have: Resourcefulness combined with flexible approaches when facing new challenges will help you excel.
